Extended Summary

Kat and Robbo are down on the beach, having just been for a swim together. They discuss him moving in and the fact Kat still hasn’t decided whether or not to keep the baby. Robbo assures her he’ll support her either way. Further down the beach, Olivia excitedly runs up to Hunter and tells him the website wants to buy her design. At the farm house, Ben cautiously enters, looking about him, and takes his keys. Maggie wonders why he’s creeping about and he says he just wanted to surprise her and wish her a happy anniversary, although she suspects he’s avoiding Diana. Diana comes in following Ziggy, who she is trying to set up with the son of one of her friends. She also reminds Ben to get the flyers advertising his business done. Ben and Maggie make plans for an anniversary drink near the beach, unaware Diana is listening in.

Kat and Robbo have gone back to the Diner flat and Robbo is retrieving some clean clothes from a cardboard box in the centre of the living area, pointing out Kat hasn’t left him any space in the bedroom. Kat tells him Scarlett left behind the bag they found at the cove but Robbo throws it away, saying that’s an old life. McCarthy then rings Kat and tells her that Novak has resurfaced: A witness reported seeing someone matching his description going into a house in Smith Street in Yabbie Creek. Kat wants to join him there but McCarthy not only instructs her to stay away, he says he’s sending someone round to keep an eye on her. Kat shares the news with Robbo and decides to head down there anyway. Robbo wants to go too but Kat insists she’s fine.

Ziggy asks Ben where Diana is; he notes that she ducked out but he’s just heard her coming back and adds she’ll leave if she thinks they’re happy. Diana enters and says she’s bought some new clothes for Ziggy, indicating her usual clothes make her look like a “lady of the night”. Ben says he has to go get Maggie’s present and is thrown when Diana reveals she has also bought her something: Platinum earrings, the traditional gift for a twentieth anniversary. Ben privately tells Ziggy it’s what he was going to get: Maggie pointed them out to both him and Diana in a catalogue. Ziggy offers to help him come up with a new idea.

Meanwhile, Leah and Olivia are helping Irene settle back in at the beach house; Tori managed to fast-track her operation although she’s still in pain. Irene and Leah ask Olivia about her deal and she says the dress is her best-seller. Hunter, who has been checking the paperwork at the table, asks Olivia about her commission and Olivia says she’s getting 20%, which is what she gets now. Hunter corrects her: She’ll be getting 20% of the profit, rather than all of it, meaning she only gets 20% of what she gets now. Leah notes this is only 4%.

Kat arrives at the street in Yabbie Creek, with Robbo following and watching from a safe distance. Kat approaches a group of officers in a combination of normal attire and SWAT gear, including McCarthy and Stevenson. She wants to go in with them but McCarthy insists she stay back and assigns another officer, Baxter, to stay with her. The police burst into the house but find no-one. Stevenson calls out that Novak is escaping over the fence at the back and officers chase him. Kat overhears and says they can cut him off, sending Baxter one way while she goes the other. She encounters Novak but as she goes for her gun, he punches her in the stomach and escapes. Robbo rushes to her side and she worries about the baby but refuses to get checked out. They rejoin McCarthy who comments on Kat being uncharacteristically sloppy; she says she hasn’t got over her bug. She wants to help search the house but McCarthy sends her home and tells Baxter to accompany her.

Ben and Ziggy look over their list of ideas, which include stargazing, movie night, candlelit dinner and couples’ massage. Diana comes through and complains about them sitting there when she wants Ben to get on with the flyers and Ziggy to send a photo of herself to her friend’s son, Humphrey. She is unimpressed by their list and makes a point of mentioning she bought their engagement ring (which Ben says she bought without asking and insisted Maggie wear). Ben and Ziggy head to the Diner where Ziggy wonders whether their priority should be the anniversary or getting rid of Diana. Ben says Maggie would never forgive him and some things aren’t worth fighting over. Ziggy suggests he take Maggie to Salt as if it’s their normal drinks and surprise her with a candlelit dinner.

Kat and Robbo arrive back at the flat. Kat wonders why Novak is still around when he must know she isn’t testifying. Robbo ponders if he’s staying for something else but doesn’t elaborate. Kat says McCarthy didn’t find anything at the house. She also tells him she’s decided to keep the baby. Robbo is happy and kisses her. When we cut back to them, Kat is lying on the sofa, naked except for a blanket, and Robbo is putting his jacket back on. Kat is feeling queasy and decides to go to bed. Robbo says he’s got to go and do a job for Alf but instead he retrieves the bag and finds a key in it.

Olivia meets Axel at Salt and says she doesn’t look set to make much money from the deal. Axel says he doesn’t know much about the contracts: He just hands them out and most new designers are happy with them. He suggests she take it up with head office and explains he’s flying her to Melbourne to look over their operation, adding that he does it with all new designers. Later, Olivia says her goodbyes to Irene, who warns her not to sign anything. She also says goodbye to Hunter, who still isn’t sure if they should trust the company.

Robbo drives to the street in Yabbie Creek and hides from a police patrol. He uses the key to let himself into the house (ignoring the police notices). Inside, he looks around with what seems to be recognition and instantly uncovers a concealed panel in the kitchen containing a gun, money and car keys. He takes the latter to an expensive car outside, finding electronic equipment in the boot. It seems to be started by his thumb print and, after finding a business card, he instructs the Sat Nav to take him to its previous destination.

Ben and Ziggy arrive home to find Diana is cooking a family meal for the anniversary. Maggie says they can skip the drinks this year. Ben indicates he had more than drinks planned. Ziggy suggests she and Coco eat with Diana while Ben and Maggie go out but Diana says there’s too much for three. Despite Maggie’s interjections, Diana calls Ben selfish and Ben replies that he’s not going to be spoken to like that in his home by a controlling old witch. Diana walks out, looking upset. Maggie doesn’t look happy.

Robbo reaches his destination: A warehouse-type building. He goes inside and Novak appears at the top of a flight of steps, holding a gun (although he doesn’t point it at Robbo). He says he wondered if Robbo would find him there.
