Extended Summary

In the aftermath of the explosion, Robbo finds Justin who had been knocked down by the blast as a frantic Kat runs up saying she can’t find Scarlett anywhere. Justin begins yelling for Scarlett who walks out of the burning remains revealing she has been impaled in her left shoulder by a piece of timber and collapses. Justin calls Tori and tells her what’s happened, asking what they should do while they wait for the ambulance. Tori tells them it’s a dangerous area and not to move it all, she tells them to find something to wrap around the wound to keep it in place. She begins to go into shock which Tori says is common, they will need to keep her warm so Kat goes to find a blanket and to check her pulse, telling them to elevate her legs to keep the blood flowing. Finally, she tells them to keep her still and that she will meet them at the hospital. Robbo goes to find Kat, worried why it’s taking her so long to find a blanket. Robbo becomes panicked when he can’t find Kat, while Justin waits with Scarlett trying to keep her conscious. As she comes around she asks for Caleb, followed by an exclamation of how much pain she is in. We see Kat, knocked out and bound (with a head wound) tied up in the back of the mystery man’s car and being taken away. As she comes to he tells her that he tried to make it look like an accident and that she shouldn’t have turned on her friends (alluding to the corrupt cops she is testifying against) and gags her as she begins to plea. He ties her legs to a cement block and is about to drag her into the dam when Robbo arrives in Justin’s truck. Robbo sees Kat and scared, the man takes off. Once Robbo has untied Kat she tells him to chase after him as he planted the bomb. Justin and Scarlett have made it to the hospital where Tori begins working on Scarlett. Before Justin is taken away to be checked he is asked who her next of kin is and he tells them to call her husband. Caleb arrives and lashes out at Justin telling him to stay clear of him and Scarlett, they both then find out from Tori that Scarlett is stable. Robbo manages to catch the mystery man and asks him who sent him. The man reveals that they served and worked together and that his name is Beckett Reid, but before he can ask more, Kat in the distance screams his name distracting him long enough for the man to knock him out with a rock and escape. At the hospital Kat’s sergeant tells her they are looking for the man, as he leaves Justin arrives and updates them on Scarlett while they update him on the man from the cabin. They acknowledge how luck they are that Robbo found the bomb in time. Alone, Robbo lies to Kat saying the man didn’t say anything else to him, hiding his connection. Meanwhile Scarlett awakens to see Caleb by her side and the intimate moment is caught by Justin. Later, Kat confronts her sergeant, telling him that she is refusing to testify, realising that even if they catch the man, the corrupt cops will just send someone else and she doesn’t want to risk anyone else she cares about getting hurt, much to her sergeant’s dismay.

At the hospital, Mason has organised to take Beth out for the day, having planned a surprise rendezvous for her. With the help of John and Marilyn he has organised a romantic beach lunch for her, providing all hospital approved foods. He has also cleared it with her doctor. Amazed and unable to believe how wonderful it is Beth is overwhelmingly happy. Over lunch, Beth tells Mason about her dream to see a ghost orchid because of how rare and beautiful they are. They then move on to talking about her aspiration of running a hospital and how Mason will never ever get sick of her. On the beach, Mason gifts Beth a promise ring telling her how much she has changed his life and how much he loves her. She in turn tells him that he is the best thing that has happened to her and gifts him a shell as a promise gift. Suddenly her breathing becomes laboured and she feels breathless, Mason rushes her back to the hospital. They arrive at the hospital and Beth is hysterical crying, struggling to breath and saying that it hurts. Tori rushes her through to emergency as Mason panics that this is it. In emergency, crying Beth tells and a crying Mason that she loves him before she begins to crash and Mason starts trying to do CPR.
