Kat begs Robbo to open to him seeing his pain. She says that she feels for him, but Robbo can’t help but blame himself especially as they found his photo and clothes burned thinking the worst of himself. Kat however isn’t buying it and says they will figure this out together and that she believes her is a decent man. While checking in on Robbo Kat finds out that Rose slipped into a diabetic coma. Mason is still reeling from the discovery that Beth is a patient wondering why she would tell him she’s a nurse, thinking she played a joke on him. Marilyn and John try to reassure him that it’s probably not what he thinks. He changes the conversation to instead focus on Raffy and her first day of year 10 tomorrow. Raffy is understandably nervous but Mason tells her she is going to kill it. Mason sneaks into Beth’s room and as he tries to read her file Beth comes in and tells him to leave. He asks her why he did this and she reveals that she is dying. She tells him that five years ago she was diagnosed with a heart condition and is waiting for a heart transplant. Mason tells her not give up hope and apologises. She tells him that when she first saw him and how upset he was she just wanted to help him. She says she knows how he felt, and he can see the pity in his eyes, she tells him it felt great being around him for days without that look. Seeing mason begin to get upset she excuses herself. Feeling sad, Beth is surprised when Mason comes by the next day to visit her, he tells her he was a judgmental moron and apologies. Accepting his apology, she agrees to start again. Beth and Mason bond and it’s clear that there are feelings between the two. Feeling bad after eating an unhealthy lunch Coco leaves to purge but the others think something is up especially VJ who leaves to follow her. As VJ approaches the bathrooms he can hear Coco throwing up and when she comes out asks her point blank.

As they leave they pass Roo and Alf and things are still frosty between Roo and Maggie. On her first day of year 10 Maggie and John have prepared a huge breakfast for her and even brought her new pens however all this cant quells her nerves. Jennifer wastes no time giving Raffy a hard time teasing her. Maggie congratulates Hunter on his good results and he tells her he couldn’t have done it if it wasn’t for Roo. Hunter and VJ take Coco and Raffy to lunch which is overheard by Jennifer who then tries to crash their lunch but is turned away by the girls and VJ. Maggie finds Roo at the diner and offers to push her application to be a teacher forward and promises her a job as soon as it does saying her instincts are good.
