Extended Summary

Kat and Ash head back into the living area. Kat insists that Patrick’s behaviour isn’t normal despite Ash dismissing it as military training. Patrick emerges and asks Ash if he’s okay. Ash tries to make light of it, saying he’ll be ready for Patrick next time, but Kat tries to demand an explanation. Patrick leaves. Ash follows him outside, trying to get him to talk to him, but Patrick refuses to discuss it and walks off. Kat, who has also come outside, looks worried.

At the beach house, Tori calls out to Nate about breakfast. Nate says there should be something in the fridge but Tori finds it empty and Nate realises Olivia cleared it out. After a bit of flirty chat about having the place to themselves, they decide to go out for breakfast. At the Diner, they find Phoebe planning her engagement party. Despite them trying to explain they wanted to have breakfast on their own, she insists they sit down and help. Phoebe says she wants a rock and roll wedding, with this being the support act, but admits she can’t afford anything more than a playlist on her iPhone. When Nate’s input is invited, he says he isn’t too good at weddings. Phoebe jokes it might be third time lucky.

Hunter is on the phone to the landlord outside the rental but, when Olivia emerges, he tells her that, since they didn’t inspect it and signed the lease, the landlord is refusing to organise a clean-up. They can’t get out of the lease without forfeiting the bond and the first month’s rent. Putting a brave face on, they say they can make it work. Meanwhile, Tori and Phoebe are debating whether to have a stand up or sit down do. Phoebe gets confused and Nate goes to pay the bill. Phoebe asks Tori what sort of wedding she and Nate would have; after joking that they’d elope, Tori suggests something casual on the beach. Nate excuses himself and Phoebe half-jokingly says they’ve scared him off.

Kat finds Ash outside the house; there is no sign of Patrick. Ash isn’t keen to phone him if he doesn’t want to talk. Kat says Patrick tried to strangle Ash and they need to find out if that’s something that’s likely to happen again. She says if Ash doesn’t talk to Patrick, she will. Back at the rental, Hunter finds the taps don’t work and there’s a frog in the toilet. He fills in Olivia, who is checking out the kitchen. Both of them have plastered on smiles and are hiding behind fake jollity but quickly makes excuses to go back to their old places.

Alf finds Hunter making a sandwich and jokes that he and Olivia must have fallen out already. Hunter says that the place is disgusting and admits he didn’t inspect it, but feels he can’t complain because of Olivia. Alf notes he has a plane to catch; he’s meeting Sally at the other end. He says he lived in some dives and thinks the place will be fine with a lick of paint. He tells Hunter he’ll see him in a month. At the beach house, Olivia tells Nate she hates the place but thinks Hunter loves it. Nate advises her to be honest.

Tori and Phoebe are sat on the beach. Phoebe thanks Tori for her help but again notes they scared Nate off. Tori is surprised, since they were just mucking about. Phoebe points out Nate has been married twice before and suggests Tori speak to him. Nearby, Ash tracks down Patrick. Although he expected Ash to look for him, Patrick still isn’t in the mood to discuss what happened, trying to dismiss it as military instinct. Ash says Patrick used to tell him everything but Patrick says if Ash and Kat can’t accept how he is now then he’ll leave.

Olivia has been baking, saying she won’t use the oven at the new place. She offers Nate a muffin but he tells her to stop stalling. She gets a call from Hunter saying he’s at their place. As she leaves, Tori turns up and comments on Nate taking off, saying they were just mucking around. Nate says he’s never getting married again. Tori is exasperated at his refusal to discuss things, even though she doesn’t actually want to get married, calling him self-centred.

Hunter is cleaning the walls and notices a hole in the skirting board. When he touches a blind, it falls down. Olivia turns up with cleaning stuff and they both put a brave face on. Hunter says he put the frog in the creek round the back, before admitting it’s not a creek so much as a drainage problem. He adds that he’s cleaned the oven and plugged in the fridge. Olivia goes to check and screams, having found a huge house-spider. Breaking down, she says she hates the place and Hunter admits he does too. Relaxing and thinking, Hunter decides they can still make it work and they hug.

Tori goes to Salt and complains to Phoebe about Nate’s behaviour, recalling he did the same thing about babies last week. However, Phoebe isn’t completely on her side, saying that even though Nate was wrong, he’s a decent guy and they should try and work it out. Tori heads to the beach house where Nate thanks her for coming. He apologises, saying she did nothing wrong. Tori says she just thinks they should have an equal say and they quickly and light-heartedly come to an agreement over use of the bed and shower.

Ash and Patrick arrive back and tell Kat they’ve been to the pub. Kat says dinner will be half an hour so Patrick goes to take a shower. Kat asks Ash what happened and Ash admits he dropped the subject after Patrick threatened to leave. However, he’s convinced Patrick isn’t dangerous. During the night, Kat gets up and finds Patrick in the living area, staring into space as if in a trance. When she asks if he’s all right, he turns and starts advancing on her, his face still blank as if sleepwalking. Freaked out, Kat calls his name, eventually calling him Luke. Patrick comes to but both of them look shaken.
