Will Brody be sucked in by Lena’s charms? Evelyn and Matt make a life changing decision. Will Justin and Phoebe have the shortest cohabitation in history?
Extended Summary
Brody is ordering Lena and the rest of the students out of Salt. One of them falls over and Mason helps him. Olivia turns up and is bemused to find everyone else leaving. Brody tells her to blame Lena and unplugs the music to make his point. Lena says she’ll find somewhere else for them to party but Olivia and Mason decline to join her. Brody refuses to let Mason go home, saying he needs him to help clear up. At the farm house, Evelyn and Phoebe are toasting their last night as roomies. Phoebe thinks they should do something crazy but Evelyn wants to keep her bond so they settle for watching DVDs. They thank each other for being excellent house mates.
Next morning, Raffy rushes to hug Phoebe as she and Justin arrive. Brody is half-asleep on the sofa and says anyone who buys him a coffee can also buy themselves breakfast; Raffy takes him up on it and dashes out. Mason also comes in and Justin comments on him and Brody not getting home until after three, thinking they had a good night. Brody asks Mason if he wants to tell him. At the hospital, Nate and Tori are finishing a night shift. Tori is yawning and says it reflects the fact she has no life outside work. Nate thinks she needs a ride on his bike as a pick-me-up. Tori would rather have a power nap but Nate says they can meet up afterwards. Tori gets a text from Justin calling an emergency family meeting.
Brody fills Justin, Tori and Phoebe in on the fact that there were drugs in Salt and he didn’t call the police, saying as co-owners they have a right to know. Neither Justin nor Tori is impressed that Mason turned a blind eye but he protests that Brody said they needed business. The conversation comes to a halt when Raffy arrives back; Justin wants her to take Buddy for a walk but she wants to know what’s going on. Mason tells her to take $10 from his wallet but she finds drugs in there. Meanwhile, Matt, Evelyn and Ellie are outside the Diner with Matt wanting details of Evelyn’s “slumber party”. A mention of Phoebe moving on prompts Ellie to think they hate her for stopping them going to Vietnam. She storms off despite their protests. Evelyn offers to talk to her.
Phoebe is pushing Raffy out of the house as Mason explains he took the drugs off someone just before Brody threw Lena out and he forgot they were there. Justin pours the drugs down the sink: Everyone considers Mason an idiot and he doesn’t help himself by claiming drugs are no big deal, despite Justin bringing up their parents. Phoebe tries to stick up for Mason, saying he did wrong but it’s not that bad, but Justin tells her to mind her own business. She walks out, leaving everyone else looking awkward. Later, Olivia sees Mason on the beach and asks about clearing up. She goes to leave but Mason says they can be friends, although he isn’t as keen on being nice to Hunter. Olivia has worked out Lena was dealing and Mason admits he stuck up for her. Olivia sees Hunter and goes to join him, apologising for not calling and saying the party was a bust. Hunter wonders about her talking to Mason. Olivia offers to explain over food but Hunter says he has homework to do.
Phoebe is cleaning knives. Justin comes in and notes at least she isn’t throwing them at him. He apologises but says drugs are a sore point. Phoebe points out she was trying to make peace. Justin suggests she stay out of family stuff but Phoebe says that would mean staying silent the whole time. She wonders if she moved in too soon. Down on the beach, Evelyn tries to explain to Ellie that they’re happy to stay in Summer Bay but Ellie doesn’t believe her. Evelyn says they’re family but Ellie says if they were they’d have asked her if she wanted to go instead of forcing her. She storms off again. Matt joins Evelyn who says they need to try Plan B.
Nate runs into Tori at the Diner where she admits the power nap didn’t happen, since her family home isn’t convenient for resting. Nate says his offer of a bike ride is still open. Tori isn’t keen, since she’s seen plenty of motorbike injuries, but Nate insists he’s a safe driver. He asks if she’s got a jacket and says he’ll meet her in twenty minutes. Soon after, Nate arrives to find Tori wearing a leather jacket. He offers her a helmet, which she’s disappointed fits her, and assures her it’ll be fine as he ushers her out. Nearby, Evelyn is telling Matt they need to make Ellie feel secure. Matt suggests a puppy or a pony but Evelyn thinks they should apply for guardianship. Matt is stunned she wants to take that step but she says they already feel like a family.
Justin arrives at Salt and admits to Brody he made things worse with Phoebe and she’s talking of leaving. Brody asks why he’s there instead of sorting things out. Mason comes in and apologises for not stopping Lena selling drugs in there. However, he gets annoyed again when Brody tries to order him to stay away from Lena (even though he doesn’t particularly want to see her), saying that they’ve left witness protection and he doesn’t want a safe and boring life like Brody’s. Later, Lena comes in to ask Brody for her card back. Brody doesn’t give her any help tracking down Mason, who isn’t answering her texts. She says she’s sorry for bringing the drugs in, saying she overstepped the mark and didn’t know how he felt about them. She asks if she’s allowed back and Brody says she is if she doesn’t bring anything with her. Lena calls him sweet.
Justin arrives home and tells Phoebe he doesn’t want her to move out. Raffy enters in time to hear this and forces Justin to get down on his knees and beg. She begs Phoebe herself and hugs her, pushing past Justin as she leaves. Justin suggests Phoebe not express her opinion so much and Phoebe says he keeps shooting himself in the foot. Justin says he’s allowed one stupid thing if they’re going to be together forever. Phoebe retorts that he won’t manage to go through eternity without being stupid again. Justin says he’ll try. At the Diner, Hunter meets Olivia, who’s working. She recalls he wasn’t happy earlier and he says it’s weird, her being at uni and making new friends while he’s still in Summer Bay High. Olivia admits she has a study session but says she’ll call him after. Nearby, Evelyn meets Matt, who has the paperwork. Ellie hears them talking about giving her stability and thinks they’re sending her back to May. When they explain, she switches to thinking they’re going to force her to go to Vietnam and storms off.
Nate and Tori turn up at Salt; Nate thinks Tori had a good time but she insists she was terrified. He offers her dinner and drinks to make up for it. While he’s at the bar, Brody approaches Tori and comments on her being hot and flustered. She tells him about the bike ride and Brody jokes it must be love. Tori tells him not to joke about it: After Riley, she’s off romance. Brody wonders if she’s told Nate that before he joins her with the drinks. Later, Nate tries to get Tori to admit she enjoyed the bike ride. Tori admits it wasn’t as bad as she expected. They banter about bike leathers and Nate fondly notes he loves her. Cue awkward silence.
