A desperate Charlotte crosses the line. Ricky sees a glimpse of her future with Nate – has she finally found the one? Is Olivia more interested in Hunter than VJ?

Extended Summary

Deeply in love, Ricky and Nate take advantage of the empty flat. Kyle brings Casey home, and Nate offers to come back over for dinner. Ricky tells him she’ll get John to mind Casey, but Nate wants to spend time with him too, leaving Ricky surprised at his commitment.

VJ heads off to catch up with Olivia, worrying Leah, who thinks she’s trouble, as Olivia was the one who convinced VJ to steal her car. Olivia’s unimpressed as Irene explains which diner shifts she will be doing to cover her share of the car damage. Nate arrives home, and Olivia makes a cheeky first impression on him.

Charlotte receives a text from Trystan, checking on her progress tracking down Brax, and she anxiously responds that she’s working on it. In her mail she finds a letter from the Education Department, informing her she’s no longer allowed to teach in the state. Charlotte visits Zac, and tries to blackmail him into writing her a character reference, but Zac firmly rejects her – good teachers don’t sleep with their students. As VJ gloats about Olivia to Hunter in the diner, Charlotte enters, but Hunter doesn’t want to talk to her. Alf and Irene stand up for Hunter, kicking Charlotte out, leaving him humiliated. Olivia, who arrived with Irene, can’t believe what she’s just seen, and is intrigued by Hunter. On the beach, Kyle finds Charlotte crying, and lets her sob into his arms.

Olivia’s horrified when VJ and Hunter tell her more about Charlotte. The hardest part for Hunter is that she won’t explain why she’s behaved so badly. Olivia’s sympathetic, which annoys VJ. Olivia suggests they should all spend the afternoon together, displeasing VJ further.

At Angelo’s, Kyle listens to Charlotte’s money troubles and offers her a job. She’s genuinely touched, but is also reminded that she must find out where Brax is. Meanwhile at Ricky’s, Nate offers to babysit Casey when Ricky receives the offer to do a last minute photography gig. Ricky’s reluctant, but Nate insists, confident it will be a breeze.

Zac admits to Leah that he got a loan to help them get back on their feet after the house burnt down – and that when he realised he couldn’t make the repayments, he borrowed $20,000 from Charlotte. Leah’s disappointed, and Zac tells her he’s finally telling the truth because Charlotte threatened to if he didn’t help her with the Education Department. Leah forgives him, and can’t believe Charlotte tried to use his loan against him.

Charlotte finds rubbish dumped over her car. Zac and Leah walk past, and he tells Charlotte to stay away from them – Hunter included. Charlotte defends herself, pointing out that they have no idea what she’s sacrificed, and as they move off, Charlotte yells out that they can’t take her son away from her. She receives another text message from Trystan, ordering that she’d better have some info about Brax tonight. The pressure on her is relentless.

As Nate looks after Casey, Charlotte arrives, appearing to be on a mission to find Kyle. She slips into Kyle’s place, and as she searches the house for anything that may help her get Brax’s location, Kyle comes in. Thinking on her feet, Charlotte explains that she wanted to thank him in private for her new job, and kisses him. Kyle responds, and they head towards the bedroom.

Back at Irene’s, Olivia shows Hunter and VJ a photo of her mother. VJ tries to get Olivia’s attention, but she is clearly only interested in Hunter as they continue to bond, leaving VJ resentfully on the outer.

Ricky gets home to find the flat a mess. A little amused, she finds Nate asleep on the bed, next to Casey sleeping in his cot – a glimpse of her future, and she couldn’t be happier.

After sleeping with Kyle, Charlotte makes to leave as Ricky walks in, and catches the weird vibe between them. Charlotte exits, leaving Ricky bemused, and leans against the wall outside, digesting the line she’s just crossed. What is happening to her?

Kyle tells Ricky that Charlotte will be doing some shifts at Angelo’s, and she’s unimpressed. Ricky checks that Kyle is sure Charlotte is someone he should be hanging out with, but Kyle has her back, and thinks everyone just needs to give her a break. Back at her place, Charlotte is on the phone with Trystan, begging for more time to find information on Brax – but he hangs up. Then suddenly a brick smashes through her window, sending shards of glass flying, and cutting her cheek. Charlotte’s paralysed with fear.
