Charlotte’s world continues to unravel. Ricky learns the truth about Nate’s father. What’s behind Olivia’s random behaviour?

Extended Summary

John and Irene hear a crash from Charlotte’s apartment, and head upstairs to find that someone has thrown a brick through her window, and left Charlotte with a cut on her face. Irene calls the police despite Charlotte’s protests.

Nate wakes up to find Casey asleep, and Ricky doing the dishes. Nate apologises for the mess, and tells Ricky he enjoyed looking after Casey. Nate suggests that the three of them spend tomorrow at the beach. Ricky’s quietly pleased, feeling like she’s hit the jackpot with her man.

Kat questions Charlotte, trying to find out who may be attacking her, but Charlotte is unhelpful, so Kat wraps up the interview. Kat asks if Charlotte wants her to let Hunter know what’s happened, but Charlotte wants him kept out of it.

As Zac and Leah wait for VJ to arrive home from his night out with Olivia, Leah worries he may be taking things to the next level, and asks Zac to have “the talk” with him about being prepared. Zac reluctantly agrees to have a word with him. But VJ is just playing poker with Hunter, as Olivia arrives back with a pizza. She continues to flirt with Hunter, leaving VJ feeling on the outer, and he decides to go home. Irene comes in, and tells Hunter about what happened to Charlotte. But Hunter’s conflicted, unsure if he wants to go and see his Mum.

VJ arrives back, and is unimpressed with Zac’s attempt to explain how important it is to “be safe”. He tells Zac that Olivia’s all over Hunter anyway, leaving Zac worried for his son. Meanwhile, Hunter visits Charlotte to check that she’s alright. Charlotte’s touched, and asks Hunter to come back. But Hunter refuses, unable to believe that she can change, crushing her hopes of reconciliation.

The next morning, Leah’s relieved when Zac tells her that Olivia’s more interested in Hunter than VJ. Hunter enters to a frosty reception from VJ, so tells him that he’s not interested in Olivia, and will stay away from her.

At the beach, Ricky tries to learn more about Nate’s relationship with his father, but realises she’s hit a sore spot. Kat arrives, and the three of them have an awkward moment, after Kat told Nate to stay away from her last week. Kyle sees Kat, and explains she would have handled it better if she wasn’t so tired from work, and gets ready to fill Kyle in…

Concerned for Charlotte, Kyle visits, and tries to help her see she can get through her tough time by talking about how he got past losing Brax. But now that she can see that Kyle’s grief is real, Charlotte realises that it’s going to be hard to get more information about Brax without hurting him.

Olivia moves to serve Hunter at the diner, but he’s deliberately guarded and polite, and suggests that she hang out with VJ by herself from now on. Annoyed, Olivia confronts VJ on the beach, and discovers that he thought that she was flirting with him. Olivia’s furious, and leaves VJ bamboozled that he misread her so badly.

Ricky asks Nate about his father again, and he explains that he is a gambling addict that did not look after him or his mother, and that he has not tried to find him. Ricky’s moved by Nate’s sad past, and senses she needs to help him somehow.

Still upset about his run-in with Olivia, VJ tells Leah that he thought she really liked him, and when he told her he thought something was going on between them, she freaked out. He still doesn’t understand how she can be flirting with him one minute, and then completely different the next. Something’s not right with her. Meanwhile over at Irene’s, Olivia’s bare thigh reveals several scars – the evidence of a long-term cutting habit. Clearly VJ was on to something.

Nate puts Casey into his cot, and Ricky encourages him to reach out to his father. Nate’s hesitant, as he’s still angry for how badly he let his family down.

Charlotte meets Trystan, and tells him she wants out. Kyle knows nothing about Brax, and the rest of the family believe he’s dead. Trystan doesn’t think she can be sure until she gains their confidences, but Charlotte’s firm. Trystan loses his patience, and threatens to expose Charlotte as Denny’s murderer, just as Kyle intervenes. Trystan backs off, but Kyle’s worried – who was that guy?

As Nate moves off for a shower, Ricky begins her search for his father, typing his name into an internet search.

Charlotte tries to spin a story for Kyle as they enter her apartment, but he knows she’s lying – Trystan called her a murderer. But will Charlotte finally reveal the truth?
