John gives Marilyn a round-the-world ticket and they renew their vows.
Extended Summary
John rushes after Marilyn after having been left at the alter. She’s finally forced to be truthful with him – she can’t stay in Summer Bay when her heart is telling her to travel, leaving John hurt.
Later, Chris, who’s running late for the renewal, bumps into a downcast John looking over the ocean. John explains what happened, how Marilyn doesn’t want him and wants to travel. But Chris manages to talk him round, recounting a cute story that proves Marilyn loves him, and telling him he needs to do something before he loses her. Soon after, John finds Marilyn, and produces a round the world plane ticket for her, telling her he wants her to be happy, and that she needs to start packing as she leaves tonight. Marilyn, excited, tells him she isn’t leaving until they renew their vows. The celebrant is long gone, but Marilyn has an idea – Alf can preside and save the day.

Ash finds Kat passed out on the sofa. As he wakes her, he asks her if this is really how she wants to spend her life. She confesses him of pouring away her vodka and kicks him out, grabbing another bottle of wine as he leaves.
Later, she leaves a drunken voicemail for Nate, telling him she’s fed up of waiting for him to collect his stuff. As Phoebe is performing a song at the vow renewal, she stumbles into the middle of it and throws a box of Nate’s things at his feet. She starts shouting at him and getting more and more abusive, forcing Ash to pick her up and drag her away, still shouting and crying.
Once Kat calms down, she soon regrets her actions, knowing she’s made a mess of John and Marilyn’s special day. She apologises to Ricky and Nate, but still finds time to jab at Nate as he tells her he still cares for her. Back at home, she pours the wine away, and breaks into tears, finally accepting the reality of the situation.

VJ is worried he’ll get discovered after he and Olivia took Leah’s car – but Olivia distracts him by laying her hand on his leg, making him feel like there may be something there. Later, the pair find a dent in Leah’s car, and as they grab paint from the bait shop to repair the damage, they’re caught in the act by Alf. Leah tells VJ off, while Irene lets Olivia know how much she’s messed up.
