Nate and Kat cross swords a few times but eventually reconcile. Hannah and Andy work things out. Jett storms out after a failed family discussion about his hopes to join the armed forces.
Extended Summary
Nate approaches Kat after she’s been swimming and tells her he’s sorry about the prison thing and that he’s told Ricky he is going to stay out of it from now on. She leaves, still cold with him.
Andy’s up early, says he has to get to work. Hannah tries to talk, but he brushes her off saying he’ll be out of the house as soon as possible. Hannah tries to placate him but Oscar walks in and Andy takes the opportunity to leave. Hannah speaks to Phoebe about Andy, and that he is now talking about moving out. Phoebe speculates that perhaps they should break up, that this is all happening because deep down Hannah wants to. Hannah leaves a message for Andy, which Oscar overhears and asks what’s wrong. Hannah starts to tell him then says she shouldn’t and leaves. Oscar goes and finds Andy, and tells him that he can be a bit full on sometimes, to try and reassure him that Hannah is just struggling with it, not that she doesn’t love him. Andy goes home and apologises to Hannah for his lack of communication about moving in, and Hannah apologises for not speaking up sooner. She says she doesn’t feel like her own person. Andy seems to understand.
John finds Jett on the beach saying he hoped they’d have breakfast together. Jett is upset about Marilyn’s reaction and having made her feel this way. John wants to support him, but isn’t convinced he’s thought it through enough. Jett is adamant. John goes and speaks to Marilyn who’s really upset that John didn’t talk to her about it. John tries to convince her that it’s good that Jett is coming to them with it, and doesn’t want to push him away. John suggests Jett and Marilyn go with him to a movie, but both say no. John demands that they all sit down together and talk about the elephant in the room, like a family. Things get heated again and Jett walks out saying that he’s 16 and doesn’t need their permission. John gets Marilyn a cuppa and they decide to leave it for a few days and see what happens.
Nate quizzes Leah about seeing the doctor after she arrives back with Zac and VJ but she doesn’t want to talk. Nate asks if Zac wants to go out. The guys get coffee and Nate lends Zac a shoulder to lean on. Zac confesses it’s been hard, but that he’s there for Leah whatever happens. During their conversation Nate see Kat, and goes to talk to her afterwards. In the diner Phoebe asks Roo to cater for the surprise baby shower, Chris offers to help and is upset when he’s told it’s a girl thing. Nate comes in and tells Kat they need to sort things out. Their chat doesn’t go too well and Nate leaves telling Kat to get back to him when she’s worked out what she wants.
Phoebe asks Kat for help getting Ricky a present for the baby shower but she’s not the right person to ask. They decide to hang out and talk about Kat’s man dramas. Phoebe says she has to work out if she wants to make it work.
Leah gets up after a nap, she’s on edge about hearing from the doctor. Leah snaps at Zac when she can’t find her phone, Nate offers to call Dr Gleeson and find out what’s happening.
Nate and Kat reconcile, but just as they’re kissing and making up Nate receives the call back regarding Leah and it’s not good news. Nate tells Leah, Zac and VJ that Leah has an aneurysm, and that he thinks surgery is the best option. Zac and VJ start to agree but Leah is quick to state that she’s not going in for surgery, not after everything that’s happened.
