Extended Summary

Ash reassures Ricky that she’ll be a great mum, comparing the way she’s looked out for the ‘boys’ with being a mother. Ash bumps into Denny after a surf, it’s really awkward but he asks whether Ricky has spoken to her about her worries about motherhood. Denny goes to talk to her but is brushed off. Ricky accuses Ash of lining up minders for her, and tells him they don’t have to look after her. He says that’s his job, Brax would want him to. They talk about how Ash would like to still be with Denny. Afterwards Phoebe joins Denny who tells Phoebe how freaked out Ricky is. They decide to arrange a surprise baby shower for Ricky.

Hannah’s on the phone, Phoebe spots her and offers to go for coffee, Hannah tells her that she’s just been told that she’s not been cleared to go back to work yet. Phoebe asks whether Hannah has talked to Andy about feeling smothered, she tries to deflect but Phoebe urges her to do something. Hannah gets home to find Denny leaving, and Andy drilling and redesigning the house… He’s made them lunch, to celebrate living together but Hannah doesn’t look as happy as she should. Andy’s getting really into the domesticated life. He offers to take her away for a few days but she’s not too enthusiastic. Later on Andy tries to get a bit of sexy time with Hannah but she pushes him away saying she’s meeting Phoebe. Hannah tells Phoebe that she feels trapped by Andy, just as she felt trapped by the wheelchair. Phoebe says she needs to talk to Andy. The girls then bump into Andy, but Hannah chickens out of talking to him. Later on when Andy gets home from work he asks what’s going on with Hannah. She says she’s sorry, that she loves him, but that she wasn’t ready to move in together. Andy tells her to let him know when she’s figured it out and walks away. That night Hannah tries to talk to him, asking him not to shut her out. She says she needs time to work it out, and he turns away.

John tries to persuade Jett to hold off telling Marilyn that he wants to go away to start military school. John goes to pick up lunch and talks to Roo about the situation saying he’s never seen him so determined, but he thinks he’s too young and will change his mind. When he gets back John tries to talk to Jett again, but Marilyn arrives home just as things get heated and the boys cover. Over lunch Jett goes ahead and tells Marilyn that he wants to join the armed forces. Marilyn leaves the table saying she needs some air. When she comes back she is upset that John knew and didn’t tell her. She also tells Jett that she’ll never agree with his idea.
