Phoebe and the girls throw a surprise baby shower for a reluctant Ricky. Leah refuses to have surgery for her aneurysm, despite Nate’s recommendation.
Extended Summary
Leah and Zac fight about her not wanting the surgery. Nate tells Zac and VJ that his unreserved opinion is in favour of Leah having the it. Later Nate finds a slightly calmer Leah in the diner and they start to discuss surgery but as soon as Nate mentions the risks Leah shuts him down and tells him she wants to be left alone.
Irene, Roo and Chris are prepping food for Ricky’s surprise baby shower when Ricky walks in on the phone – they all quickly cover, which Ricky finds odd but accepts.
Hannah tells Denny and Phoebe that things are better with Andy, and they plan the surprise baby shower. Phoebe and Hannah head to Angelo’s to start setting up, Phoebe hasn’t booked anywhere so she just tells everyone to eat up and go, everything’s on the house! Denny calls saying she can’t find Ricky but then sees her in the diner, where she overhears her talking about going into work and quickly diverts her, asking if they can go and talk somewhere. Irene spots Leah and starts to ask if she got the test results, then comforts her as she breaks down. Irene thinks Leah should have the surgery which frustrates Leah. Roo comes and tells them it’s time to go to the baby shower, Irene offers to stay with Leah but she urges Irene to go. Leah gets home where Zac is waiting, he tries to gently ask if she’ll talk about it but Leah says she won’t have the surgery. Zac gets upset and tells her that he doesn’t want to lose her. Later on VJ tells her in no uncertain terms that she needs the surgery, saying that she may not be thinking straight. Later on VJ apologises for the way that he spoke to her and Leah calls Zac and Nate in. She tells them all that she has been listening but that she’s not going to have the procedure and tells them that she needs their support.
Denny is waffling on about Ash and her problems to try and keep Ricky occupied. Ricky isn’t fooled and Denny confesses that they’re organising the baby shower. Ricky isn’t impressed but Denny talks her round saying they know how hard things have been for her and they care about her. And that she has to act surprised! They go to Angelo’s where Ricky is touched by the effort they’ve all gone to.
The baby shower games are going off. But when it comes to the presents Ricky is reminded of Brax and leaves the room trying to hold back tears. She returns apologising for being hormonal and says she’s feeling tired and is going to go home, turning down Denny’s offer of going with her. When she gets home Ricky falls asleep holding a photo of her and Brax. The next morning she wakes up and starts having possible labour pains – will this stop her from visiting Brax today?
