A mysterious boy heads to the Diner looking for Phoebe. Kyle learns that he may never be able to sing again. Denny puts her feelings about Andy aside for Hannah’s sake.
Extended Summary
Denny struggles to accept that Andy will be living with them while Hannah recovers from her injuries. Oscar sees Denny yelling at Nate, and tells her not to take out her feelings on him. Denny admits to Oscar that she’s scared that Andy isn’t responsible enough to look after Hannah, and that she’s scared he’ll stuff things up. Meanwhile, Andy tells Hannah that he doesn’t blame Denny for having an attitude towards him. When Andy opens up to Phoebe, wondering what he can do to prove to Denny that he’s going to stick around, Phoebe tells him that the only thing he can do is to stay by Hannah’s side. Phoebe tries to make Denny see that she needs to put her animosity towards Andy aside for Hannah’s sake. Denny takes Phoebe’s advice onboard, and joins Andy, Oscar and Hannah for pizza in Hannah’s room. When Andy goes to leave, Denny tells him he should stay with Hannah. She leaves for the city for a few days to try to clear her head and let Andy and Hannah be.
While Brax and Ash are away trying to extract a confession from Sam, Kyle is at home feeling useless. Phoebe tries to distract him, encouraging him to play guitar to take his mind of things. She eventually gets him playing, and orders him to sing with her. They begin singing, but Kyle’s voice is raspy and his throat is sore. Kyle lies to Phoebe that
he has to check the rosters, and instead goes to visit Nate at the hospital. Nate tells him that he thinks Kyle has developed a granuloma on his vocal chords, possible from the emergency incubation after the bus crash. He is devastated to learn that he may never be able to sing again. When Kyle shares the sad news with Phoebe, she tells him she won’t sing until he can too. Meanwhile, a mysterious young man is having lunch alone in the Diner. When Phoebe wanders in, he tells Roo that he’s a huge fan. After Phoebe and Kyle discuss his throat problems, Phoebe goes outside to put out the rubbish. She has no idea that the boy from The Diner is spying on her from the bushes. But what does he want?
