Extended Summary

As Ash and Brax reach the country town where Sam lives, Ash makes Brax pulls over. He tells Brax that he’ll go into town alone so nobody sees Brax, and come and pick him up when he’s found out Sam’s location. When Ash returns with directions to find Sam, he makes Brax promise that he won’t do anything rash. They approach Sam and grab him before he runs off. Sam tells them that he won’t change his statement. It’s clear from the way he’s acting that Sam killed Dean but Sam won’t budge. He holes himself up in a building but is eventually coaxed outside. Sam tells Ash that he should be grateful that he didn’t stitch up him as well. When Brax and Ash realise that Sam has called the police, they are forced to leave.

VJ struggles to come to terms with Leah’s bleak predicament. He admits to Matt that he feels like everyone else has moved on. Matt’s also dealing with the fact that he probably won’t get into university – despite Sasha’s optimism. When Irene gives Sasha a parcel of orientation material from Redside College, Sasha pretends that she isn’t excited, as she doesn’t want to be insensitive to Matt’s situation. But Matt opens up the pack for her and tries to tempt Sasha into looking at the material. Sasha and Matt discuss VJ’s situation, and Sasha comes up with a plan to help him cope with his mum being in hospital. Sasha brings a framed photograph of Leah and Irene to The Diner and suggests to Irene and VJ that they can hang it up at the café to keep Leah in everyone’s thoughts. Irene thinks it’s a beautiful gesture, but VJ completely rejects the idea, blowing up at Sasha. Matt follows an angry VJ home and tries to get through to him. He suggests that VJ should come back to school with him next term, to try to get on with things. VJ objects to Matt’s phrasing, telling Matt that he’s acting like Leah’s dead. He punches Matt in the face and stalks off.

Phoebe finds a tiara and a rose with a note attached, “To Phoebe”, waiting for her outside the house. Phoebe assumes Kyle left it for her. On her way to Angelo’s, the boy who was watching the house the night before approaches. He introduces himself and tells her he’s a huge fan of her music. When she tells him she’s taking a break from music, he’s genuinely upset. As Phoebe walks off, the boy compliments the tiara and Phoebe tells him that her boyfriend left it for her. Later, John is on the phone, trying to sell his house, when he sees the same boy looking into one of the windows nextdoor at the Braxtons’. Worried that something fishy is going on, John passes on this news to Phoebe. But she doesn’t think it’s anything to worry about. Meanwhile, the boy sits on the beach, watching the scandalous clip of Phoebe at her launch night. He tells himself that he’s going to take Phoebe away from all of this. But what does he have planned?
