Extended Summary

Penn visits John in hospital and tells him he owes him for saving his life. John laughs it off at first, but he’s a little worried Penn is serious. When John arrives home, Xavier tells him he’s pleased he’s back – for Gina’s sake. John is glad, because he intends marrying Gina as soon as possible. Xavier is stunned.

Mitzy is distant and withdrawn. Marilyn begs her to open up about what’s troubling her and Mitzy tells her to ask Sid. Eventually Marilyn wears Mitzy down, telling her she should get her side of the story in before she talks to Sid. Mitzy reluctantly tells Marilyn of Sid’s ‘end date scam’ accusation as well as the fact he’s stood down as her doctor – Marilyn is furious. She tells Sid she can’t be with anyone so unkind and closed minded. Is this the end for Marilyn and Sid?

Leah tells Charlie about the Penn situation at Summer Bay House. Charlie pays the house a visit, but Alf still refuses to make a report on Penn’s threats. He heads off and Miles says he’ll do the report. Penn turns up in the Diner the next day where Leah tells him he’s not welcome. Charlie hauls Penn into the station, but he denies any wrong doing and without any hard evidence, she’s forced to let him go. Alf is furious when he finds out Miles went behind his back to make the report, but Miles explains he’s got the kids safety to think about. With Alf still refusing to tell Charlie what Penn’s grudge is all about, it looks like all Charlie can do is keep an eye on Penn…for now.

Nic tries to buoy Ruby’s spirits (post Liam) by suggesting she focus on getting her P’s. Nicole thinks Charlie should teach Ruby to drive, but when Ruby asks her, Charlie is reluctant. She feels the two will only fight. It looks like Ruby has some work to do if she’s to convince her mother to agree.
