Kirsty is overjoyed that Kane has regained consciousness after the accident but uncertainty remains over her feelings for him. After witnessing their happy family reunion, Miles is clearly concerned about where he stands with Kirsty. Desperately wanting his family back together, Kane makes another attempt at persuading Kirsty to be with him. But Kirsty can’t commit to anything. She doesn’t know how she feels about him or Miles anymore. She thought she was in love with Miles but seeing her husband near death has confused her – she isn’t ready to give any answers yet.
Despite being hazy about exactly what happened, Melody can’t bring herself to face the truth about her responsibility for what happened at the school formal. Her continuous lack of communication is frustrating Miles but he is at a loss at what to do. Jai tries to give her a much needed wake up call for putting other people’s lives at risk. Melody becomes defensive, but after remembering that in fact she was the on who closed the doors to the hall, she freaks out. Scared that Miles is going to send her back to the psych clinic, Melody gets ready to run away… but before she’s gotten past the kitchen door, Miles walks in and coaxes her to finally open up to him. Pleased that he was able to break through Melody’s shell, Miles is shocked when he learns she still isn’t telling him the whole truth. She confesses she was the one who locked the doors of the school formal hall, putting everyone’s lives in danger.
