Is Charlie sabotaging her relationship with Roman? Belle’s new quest leads to humiliation. Ross’s situation worsens.

Extended Summary

Ruby’s worried that Charlie’s on the verge of sabotaging another relationship by pushing Roman away in an attempt not to come across as too clingy. Charlie insists she just doesn’t want to pressure him, but when she offers to call off a date simply because Roman seems a little distracted, he begins to wonder if she wants to go at all. Then she receives a call from Morag asking to see her urgently, and the date is called off anyway.

After agreeing to help Murray in his quest to stop the development, Belle’s gotten her old fire back. Murray asks her to approach Alf, an ex councillor, with a few questions, and when she asks if he knows anything about toxic waste being dumped, his denial is unnecessarily vehement, and only raises her suspicion. When the council meeting to vote on the development arrives, Murray is so late and disorganised he nearly misses it completely. His presentation is a mess, and when asked for proof of his claims, he has none.

Then the developers reveal they had the soil tested themselves, by a third party, and the results came back negative of anything harmful. With Murray humiliated, the council vote unanimously for the development. Belle is embarrassed by her involvement in the whole thing, but Murray insists the tests must have been faked, and at his behest, she reluctantly agrees to continue helping him.

Ever since their honeymoon, Ross has been displaying signs of unusual forgetfulness, and it’s been getting progressively worse. Morag is worried he might have a tumour, or be on the verge of a stroke, but he refuses to consider that anything is wrong at all. Nevertheless, when she books him into a check up, he agrees to go for her sake. But then, when he’s meant to be heading to the hospital, he arrives at the police station, apparently with a tip off on the location of a homicide victim. He insists the police need to move fast, and out of respect, Jack puts a team together and they head off.

As the search draws on without results, and Ross grows more and more confused, Jack gets suspicious, and heads back to the station to investigate. He discovers that the body Ross is looking for was already found…in 1979. He bumps into Charlie and Morag, out looking for Ross, and together they all go back to the search site to lead him away. Morag’s had enough pussy footing around, this time, Ross is going to the hospital for a check up.
