Would Oliver be better off with Irene? Has Jack solved Martha’s dilemma? Ross is ready to tell Morag the truth.

Extended Summary

Kane reveals the reason he’s come to see Irene. Life on the run isn’t fair on Oliver, and they want her to look after him permanently. Kirsty couldn’t bear to ask herself, so she sent Kane. Irene’s taken aback, and not so sure she wants to take on such a monumental responsibility, or that it’s the right thing to do. In any case, they still have to deal with the real world, and DOCs. There’s no guaranteed way to make sure Irene would get custody of Oliver even if she agreed.

They’ve come to no solution when Alf arrives unexpectedly. He’s shocked to see Kane, and to hear what Irene’s gotten herself into, and thinks they should both talk to Jack, see what he can do for them. But Kane’s convinced if he turns himself in, he’ll go straight to jail, maybe Kirsty and Irene with him. When Alf hears Kane’s story, he does the best he can; promises to pretend he never saw Kane. Beyond that, it’s Irene’s decision. With Alf gone, Irene gives her answer. Yes, but on one condition. Kirsty has to look her in the eye and ask her to take Oliver.

Jack’s been roped into helping with the nippers, and now it’s up to him to convince a boy afraid of stingers to get in the water. He does a great job, and it gets him thinking. About Rory, about the child he almost had with Sam, and about his future. Finally he approaches Martha and suggests it’s time they stopped waiting and had a baby of their own. With Martha already pregnant, the timing couldn’t be better for her. Will she manage to keep this from Jack?

After running at Morag’s mention of commitment, Ross wants to make amends. But, still raw after putting her emotions on the line, Morag’s not interested. Martha overhears Ross on the phone, and it sounds like he’s still married. She calls Ross on it, and he decides it’s time to share the truth with Morag. But what does he have to say, and will it change everything?
