Extended Summary

Immersed in their kiss, Brad and Sally are unaware of Colleen as she scuttles off with a grin on her face. But when his phone rings, Brad pulls away. It’s Tam, they’re having a family dinner and she wants to know where he is. Heart racing, Sally is nevertheless left slightly disappointed and confused as she watches Brad walk away. Meanwhile, Colleen suffers from no such confusion, and is up and spreading the news that the pair are back together almost as soon as the sun is up. When Sally finds out, she’s quick to stop Colleen spreading it any further, but unfortunately it’s gotten far enough to cause trouble.

When Tony asks Brad if the rumours are true, Brad is furious, jumping to the conclusion that Sally has been telling everyone they’re back together. Sally’s excited to see him when she shows up at her house, until he launches into her with surprising anger. Things cool down when Sally explains the truth, but the lingering awkwardness between them is only worse now. Brad agrees to go to counselling, but leaves without another kiss.

Tony is struggling as the days of Jack’s coma stretch on, but Sam is downright losing it. She’s working tirelessly on him, snapping at the hospital staff, and hardly ever leaving his side. When Tony suggests that it might be a good idea to let up a little and consider the possibility that Jack might not wake up, she kicks him out.

Heather’s ready to start acting like the mother she’s supposed to be, and promises Tam that she won’t mess up her new job. And she does a good job, leaving Leah and Colleen impressed, until, when handed $200 to put in the till, she’s unable to let it go, and pockets it. When she learns of the missing money, Tam freaks, though Leah and Colleen suspect nothing. She finds her mother glued to a pokie, down to her last few dollars. Heather apologises sincerely, but despite her daughter’s begging, cannot bring herself to leave the machine. Tam promises to replace the money somehow, but almost as soon as she leaves, Heather hits the jackpot. Heather returns the money with a believable story, but not before Tam steals $200 from Viv’s unattended bag, and is seen doing it by Geoff.
