Archie has been hospitalized and Kit is terrified he has meningitis. While waiting for test results, Kit reveals the reason she didn’t allow Archie to be examined earlier – she overheard Rachel telling Hugh that she’s prone to panicking when it comes to Archie. Rachel’s left reeling that her actions may have contributed to Archie’s condition. She’s also worried how Kim will react when he finds out.
After seeking advice from Brad, Tony tries to repair his relationship with his son. Lucas sees how hard his father is trying and softens, telling him to stop trying to fix things. Luc believes Tony just needs to relax and let the family do their thing, while he should get on with his life. Tony’s left pondering exactly what direction his life should take.
Meanwhile, Brad is becoming frustrated over his suspension – and the fact that he’s getting inundated with odd jobs from Sally. Tony points out that despite all his problems, Brad still has a wonderful woman who loves him…the one thing Tony would give anything to have again. Later that night after a few drinks, Tony locks eyes with an attractive stranger. Feeling buoyed by the attention, he follows her outside. Is Tony going to sleep with her?
When Kim finally arrives at the hospital, he instinctively moves to comfort Kit, leaving Rachel once again on the outer. Finally the test results arrive and everyone is relieved to hear Archie is in the clear. However, Kim flares when he learns Rachel thought Kit was merely overreacting. He confronts Rachel, shocked and appalled that she would put his son in danger like this. Hugh steps in to defend her, noting that Kit was also to blame – she was the one who took Archie home before Rachel could examine him.
