Extended Summary

Brad’s coming down hard on Cassie, Belle, Drew and Jules, ordering them to clean the corridor and classrooms as punishment for acting up in class. As the four set to work, Jules and Belle immediately start sniping at each other, with Belle goading him about his feelings for Cassie. Jules turns the tables by pointing out that it’s obvious she and Drew are still hot for each other. The tension escalates until Brad is forced to step in and separate them, putting Cassie and Jules in one room, Belle and Drew in another.

Alone, Belle and Draw draw close, and it looks like they might finally come clean to each other about their real feelings – when they hear a heated exchange from the next room. They rush in to see Jules and Cassie having a water fight, which breaks off when Cassie slips over and hurts her ankle. Jules is immediately concerned and fusses over her, much to everyone’s surprise. Cassie later fronts Jules, asking if what Belle said is true – does he have feelings for her? Jules is uncharacteristically lost for words, leaving Cassie thoughtful. Finally she realises that Jules does in fact care for her. But does she really want to get involved with this rebel?

Meanwhile, the mood is forced between Hugh and Rachel, as he continues to hide his love for her. Kim and Rachel head next door to pick up Baby Archie and give Kit a day off motherhood. A very nervous Kit is reluctant to let go of her son, and unhappily aware of her growing feelings for Kim. Rachel and Kim take Archie to the beach, where Kim gets a call for a job interview. He heads off, and Rachel takes Archie home, where she and Hugh finally relax around each other as he helps her with the baby.

When Hugh finally tries to bring his feelings for her out into the open, Rachel panics and shuts the conversation down. The truth is, she’s aware deep down of his feelings. But she doesn’t want them confirmed because she’s scared of her own growing feelings for him – and of ultimately jeopardising their friendship. Instead, she makes it clear that she’s only interested in friendship. Giving Hugh no choice but to hold an unhappy silence.

Kit and Matilda have been relaxing all afternoon, but Kit instantly tenses when she sees Kim – and Matilda’s left wondering what’s got her sister so on edge. Finally, when Kit snaps at Kim and sends him home, Matilda presses Kit to tell her what’s going on. And she’s stunned when Kit admits that she thinks she’s falling in love with Kim!
