Extended Summary

The Braxton’s struggle to process how Brax has ended up being arrested for a murder he didn’t commit. Ash is adamant that he should tell the police that he committed the crime to avoid Brax going to jail. But Brax won’t let Ash take the fall when neither of them was responsible for the death of Dean. Ash asks Brax to tell him exactly what happened when he confronted Dean. When Ricky catches Brax on the phone to the lawyer, she realises that Brax is in serious trouble. She also demands Brax tell her what happened. Brax tells Ricky and Ash the full story: that he punched Dean and used the shovel – the alleged murder weapon – to dig up the money from the robbery. He definitely left Dean out there alive. So who did kill Dean? As they ponder this question, Ash puts together some facts: there was a barman with a grudge, Sam Kennedy. Ash tells the others that he thinks Sam could be the murderer.

John and Marilyn learn that Brax has been arrested. Jett is worried about Brax and asks him if he’s okay. John sees Jett talking with Brax, and tells Jett that he wants him to stay away from the Braxton’s. Marilyn doesn’t understand John’s concern, seeing Jett’s empathy as a good thing. When John sees Ricky on the beach, he tries to be more neighbourly. In tears, Ricky admits to John that Brax is in real trouble. John, thinking of his own family’s safety, suggests to Marilyn and Jett that they should move house to somewhere less dangerous.

Nate becomes concerned that Hannah still hasn’t told her family about the seriousness of her condition. She’s adamant that she only needs Andy. Nate takes Andy aside and tells him that Hannah needs the support of her family too. He tries to impress upon Andy what a huge undertaking it will be to look after Hannah through rehabilitation. When Andy takes Nate’s advice and tries to convince Hannah to tell her family, she shouts at him to leave her alone. Denny comes to the hospital and finds Hannah alone. She assumes the worst of Andy, thinking he has walked out on her. But Hannah tells her that she pushed him away. Hannah texts Andy, asking to see him. She tells him that she knows she needs to tell her family now. She finally comes clean to Denny. They both cry as they confront the fact that Hannah might never walk again.
