Cam manages to manipulate Martha to come back to work for him. Jack and Cam go head to head in a bid to win over Martha. Cassie’s attempt to help Lily takes a turn for the worst.
Extended Summary
Jack is in the Diner having a quick bite when Martha races past, upset after her confrontation with Cam. Jack follows Martha upstairs to her apartment. Angry tears begin swelling in her eyes as she tells him Cam has lied to her. Jack offers her some comfort as Martha pours her heart out about feeling completely betrayal. Jack insists they should catch up later and talk some more. He moves off and on his way back to his car, he crosses with Cam. Jack insists Martha has seen his true colours, once and for all and moves off, leaving Cam seething.
Cam arrives at Martha’s apartment but receives a very frosty reception. Cam begs her to hear him out. Slowly, Martha opens up to Cam about her situation with Ash and Cam finally realises why she had such a strong reaction to the revelation he was a parent. Martha begins to soften. Desperate not to lose her, Cam tells her of his run in earlier with Jack and Jack’s comment about him winning the battle. Martha is stunned to hear Jack saw this as a big competition.
Later, Martha confronts Jack and expresses her disappointment in him. She doesn’t leave much room for Jack’s explanation and moves off, leaving Jack utterly frustrated that Martha has been sucked in by Cam once again. Riled up, Martha heads to the Club and insists she is sick of playing games. She will come back to work and keep dancing. Cam couldn’t be happier – he has Martha right where he wants her!
Cassie and Matilda arrive on Lily’s doorstep, determined to help Lily escape the abuse from her family. Ensuring they are out of sight, they sneak inside to find Lily. Lily is instantly on alert and asks them to leave but it’s too late… Kyle hears the commotion and discovers the girls – he’s not happy! Matilda manages to bolt out the door as Cassie and Lily barricade themselves in a room. Well and truly fired up now, Kyle begins barging the door down. Finally, he succeeds but just as he menacingly draws closer to the girls, Ric and Brad arrive and tackle Kyle. The police are not far behind to escort Kyle off to the Station. Cassie holds Lily in a tight hug – the nightmare is finally over…or is it?
Later, back at the Summer Bay House, Constable Hanna calls by to deliver the news that Kyle has been bailed out by Brenda but not to worry – he has an AVO. He heads off, leaving Cassie and Lily relieved it’s time to move on…. But just as Lily enters the kitchen she is horrified to find Kyle standing there waiting for her. It seems her nightmare is far from over!
