Extended Summary

Jasmine is walking by the road, apparently on her way home from work. A car comes speeding up behind her and stops alongside: It’s Scott, who tells her to get in and that he’ll explain when he gets her home. Back at the flat, Robbo is on the phone, frustratedly trying to get someone to find out when Lance was last seen. Scott and Jasmine arrive; Robbo hands the phone over to Scott and shows Jasmine the contents of the envelope. He can’t understand how the gang are not all in jail. Scott reports that Lance’s shift started half an hour ago and he never turned up. Jasmine goes to settle Grace and Robbo tells Scott to bag up the evidence.

At the police station, Colby chats to Robbo on the phone and says Bella can stay with Irene for a bit. Roo asks about Ryder but Colby says he has to follow up the accusation. He asks if a lawyer’s on the way. Roo says Ryder decided that because he’s innocent he doesn’t need one. In the interview room, Ryder gets a text from Mackenzie asking what’s going on but doesn’t answer it. Colby comes back in to start the interview. At the flat, Scott reports that the police have checked Lance’s home and none of his family and friends know where he is. Jasmine tries to be positive but Robbo is convinced he’s dead and thinks it’s to scare them out of testifying.

Ryder tells Colby about getting Jade the job and how they started a consensual relationship but says he didn’t agree to it being filmed. Colby tells him Jade says they made it for personal use. Ryder explains about telling Mackenzie Jade was stealing and Colby says Jade says Ryder was the one stealing and expresses incredulity that they slept together the same day. Ryder says he can prove it wasn’t him, handing over his phone, but Colby says the video is on there and has been uploaded to his account from it. Ryder flashes back to being in Jade’s van post-coital and her sending him to get her a drink from the vending machine, realising he left his phone behind. Colby tells him he’s keeping the phone as evidence and Ryder’s to stay away from Jade.

Robbo is getting frustrated at sitting around doing nothing, despite Scott’s reassurances that everyone is on the case. Scott gets a phone call with news. Robbo asks if it’s Lance. Scott says Dylan Carter’s been found dead in his cell. Later, he explains that Des was in his cell at the time and Victor was being interrogated: Both deny involvement. Robbo notes Dylan’s testimony was a big part of the case against Victor and he’s probably hoping they’ll pull out of giving evidence. Jasmine is surprised that’s even an option. Scott says it’s up to them but Robbo and Jasmine both want to end it. Scott heads off to HQ. Robbo admits to Jasmine that it’s worse than last time.

Roo and Ryder walk back through the caravan park with Ryder wondering how he’s going to explain what happened to Mackenzie. He also worries that, since it was on his account, someone he knows could have seen the video, even though the police have taken it down. He sees Jade outside her caravan and, ignoring Roo’s advice, calls over and asks why she did it. Jade just goes back into her van. Later, Colby is exiting the surf club and sees Jade chatting to two guys. He tries to walk on but Jade comes over and asks what’s happening with Ryder. Colby says he’s been questioned and said he didn’t consent to the video being made. Jade says it’s his word against hers and also mentions him yelling at her in the caravan park, saying he doesn’t want to have to take out an AVO.

Roo finds Ryder sat outside the house. He wonders how things got crazy so fast, saying he thought Jade liked him. He recalls Roo warning him about her and Roo says she didn’t think Jade would go this far. Ryder recalls he even covered for her stealing from Salt. Roo says she checked his HSC results and he did really well. Ryder thinks it doesn’t matter but Roo thinks people will believe him and he should tell Mackenzie first thing in the morning. At the flat, Colby returns home, on the phone to Roo telling her to keep Ryder away from Jade. He chats to Robbo and Jasmine, saying it’s not Robbo’s fault. Robbo gets a call from Scott: Lance’s body has been found. Robbo puts the phone down, a tear falling on it.

A short time later, Jasmine brings Robbo in from the balcony. He laments that Lance always had their backs, recalling a time when he was undercover and Lance stopped his cover being blown by pretending to be drunk and getting headbutted by a gang member. He notes he and Jasmine could go away until after the trial, but neither of them want to see Victor walk. Next morning, Robbo rings Justin and tells him to come and get Grace and take her to the hospital. He and Jasmine reflect on their family breaking up. Scott comes to collect Robbo to take him to their team: He has handpicked bodyguards assigned to Tori and Jasmine. (Jasmine’s is already in attendance.) Robbo says he wants Victor and Des’ cells searched. He leaves Jasmine looking after Grace.

Ryder sees Jade coming out of her van and asks why she did it, saying she lured him in. She mocks the idea that she’d fall back into his arms after what he did. Ryder expresses incredulity that she’s going to the job he helped her get. Jade retorts that she’s the victim: It was Ryder who stole the money and uploaded the video. Later, Ryder is marching towards the surf club with a worried Roo following. He is intending to tell Mackenzie that Jade’s a psycho. He falters when he first sees Jade outside and then a police car pulling up. Despite Roo’s attempts to convince him otherwise, he turns and runs. Colby calls out to him and he keeps running. Colby chases after him.
