Extended Summary

Justin chases after Ben as he heads away from the beach, saying he hasn’t seen him lately and suggesting they hang out. Ben isn’t in the mood. Justin sees Colby coming and asks him about the shooting Mason heard about. Colby says Jasmine’s been taken. Justin asks about Tori and Colby says she’s still safe. He notes Robbo’s in Salt getting drunk on whiskey, before noting he has to head out. Justin goes to join Robbo, saying he’s sorry about what happened and he’s been hard on him about Tori being in hiding. Robbo tells him to take his best shot but that’s not why Justin’s there: He says Robbo kept Tori and the baby safe and tried to keep Jasmine safe, and he needs to keep doing that because this isn’t helping.

Roo meets up with Maggie near the beach and wonders about a staff meeting being cancelled. Maggie says she didn’t have time to prepare anything and reveals the previous night didn’t end well, explaining how she asked Ben to stay and he accused her of planning the whole thing. Roo is apologetic about throwing them together but Maggie says it was a good idea and no-one can predict how Ben will react. Near the pier, Irene is having a rather fraught phone conversation. She tells Leah that the jury still haven’t reached a decision: The judge has given them 48 hours, after which she’ll declare a hung jury and order a retrial.

Irene and Leah head into the Diner with Leah outraged that they might have to go through it all again. She offers to hold the fort but Irene is fed up of people doing that and wants to keep busy. Justin comes in and mentions what’s happened to Jasmine, which is news to Irene. Leah assures her Robbo will look after her and Justin tries to agree. At that moment, Robbo arrives at the police station, where Dave is putting up an incident board. He joins Colby and another officer in the office, where they are looking at CCTV footage for the car Scott described. Robbo offers to help out.

In an abandoned warehouse-cum-barn in the middle of nowhere, Lenny is lying injured while Fitz tends to him. Jasmine notes the bullet’s still in him and he needs to be in hospital. Des doesn’t seem particularly bothered but says Jasmine can look after him. Jasmine protests she’s not a doctor but Des says if she doesn’t there’ll be two dead bodies there. He unties her. At the Diner, Irene chats to Alf. Roo and Maggie come in. Roo admits to Alf that the evening didn’t go as she’d hoped. Alf isn’t interested in blaming her and Roo asks him to talk to Ben.

Alf finds Ben at the surf club and tells him neither he nor Maggie knew anything about the previous night: It was all Roo and it came from a good place. He asks if Ben’s spoken to Maggie about what he’s thinking. Ben doesn’t think she’d understand. Alf recalls Martha thought that about him but he thinks he would have done. Meanwhile, Leah finds Irene finishing another phone call on the wharf. Irene says she’s let Fin know what’s going on but has told her not to come to court tomorrow because she doesn’t want her to see her led away in handcuffs. She sends Leah back inside.

Robbo finishes a phone call and tells Colby that Scott’s made it to the city okay. He wonders why there’s been no demands and Colby suggests they’re making him sweat. They see a car that matches the description and Robbo recognises Des in it. They decide to track it and see where it went. At the hideout, Jasmine tends to Lenny but tells Des she can’t remove the bullet. Des still refuses to take him to hospital, saying either Jasmine helps him or he puts him out of his misery. Jasmine says she’ll need supplies and Fitz volunteers to get them. Recalling the list she gave to Robbo, Jasmine writes out an identical list.

Roo and Maggie are asking Leah about Irene but moments later she comes back in. She notes that she might only have a few more hours in the Bay so she’s going to give everyone a big feed, deciding to call Marilyn. Maggie gets a text from Ben asking her to meet him at Salt. She finds him on the Salt balcony where they clear the air about the previous night. Ben says all his attention at the moment is focused on the case but after that’s gone he can think about them. Maggie asks if there is still a them. Ben hopes so.

Robbo is getting frustrated at the lack of progress, thinking Jasmine’s probably been taken out of the area. Colby suggests he take a break. Robbo secretly takes the phone number he was given from the board and calls it. At the hideout, Lenny wonders why Jasmine cares about him and she says she just does. He notices her shooting looks at Des, who isn’t paying much attention to them, and tells her it’s not worth making a run for it: Des will catch and hurt her. Des gets the call from Robbo but doesn’t answer, playing Jasmine a voicemail in which Robbo asks what they want and says don’t hurt Jasmine. Robbo has rejoined Colby and gets a call from Des. He asks to speak to Jasmine and tells her to answer yes or no but she only managed to say they’re not still on the move before Des takes the phone back. He tells Robbo he’ll release Jasmine if Robbo delivers Dylan. He ends the call and tells Jasmine she’ll stay with him until then.
