Extended Summary

The confrontation continues at the Pier Apartment, with Robbo refusing to let Kat leave – as an oblivious Ash decides to go and get a drink at Salt. Kat agrees to hear Robbo out on the proviso that he is honest, and he admits to killing Novak, but maintains it was only to protect her. He argues that he still doesn’t remember his old life as Beckett Reid, and thinks they should run away together. But when Kat struggles to accept any of this – telling him she doesn’t trust him any more – Robbo grows agitated. Scared, Kat tries to leave the apartment but Robbo physically restrains her – forcing Kat to change tack and pretend to entertain his fantasies, leading Robbo to reveal he has already set up a place for them to go. When Robbo grows suspicious of her deception, Kat fakes a stomach cramp, hoping Robbo will call an ambulance so she can get out of there. Instead he calls Tori, telling Kat to pretend that everything is normal between them. When Tori arrives, she quickly realises that she has been drawn into a dangerous situation – Kat is faking her symptoms, and something is amiss with Robbo. Tori decides to play along with Kat’s cramp ruse to try and get them both out of there – telling Robbo she suspects something is wrong with the baby, and that they need to go to hospital. When an increasingly distressed and confused Robbo refuses, Kat and Tori try to make a run for it, but Robbo stops Tori before she can make it out the door. Meanwhile, Ash has grown suspicious that Kat has taken so long, and goes to the police station to tell them Robbo is Beckett Reid. But he’s sounded the alarm too late – arriving back in Summer Bay just as Robbo drives a kidnapped Tori away.

Back in a better place with Hunter after a tumultuous few weeks, Olivia goes to meet with Axel – convinced she can now keep business and pleasure separate. But when Axel presents her with tickets to fashion week in Paris, Olivia becomes flustered, unsure whether to go – feeling the temptation to be with him will be too great. She goes to Irene for advice, but Irene gives her short shrift – unable to believe Olivia’s contemplating going at all. When Hunter later approaches Irene to do her piece for the proposal video, she struggles to be positive about their relationship given everything she knows. Thrown, Hunter starts to suspect something is up with Olivia – as Irene’s reaction to the video was similar to Ziggy’s. He confronts Olivia about it, but she lies – suggesting they’re being weird because she had confided in them about Axel’s invitation. Relieved it’s not something worse, Hunter encourages her to go with Axel to Paris, but Olivia decides not to tempt fate and declines – saying she’ll go with Hunter instead next year. Axel is left disappointed, and Hunter privately bemused by her decision.

Ziggy is hiding from Jarrod, and while Maggie disapproves of her behaviour, Ben is on his daughter’s side – believing Jarrod deserves it after cheating on her. But when Ben discovers Jarrod is broke, he begins to feel sorry for him, and suggests that Ziggy stop stringing him along. Ziggy accuses her parents of meddling in her love life again, suggesting they decide which of Brody or Jarrod is right for her. Ben and Maggie are left feeling like they’ve overstepped.
