Extended Summary

When Ziggy finds out Brody told her parents that Jarrod’s in town, she warns him to stay out of it. Jarrod arrives at the garage claiming to have a faulty motorbike, and when Justin takes it for a quick test ride, he has Ziggy all to himself. He asks her why he’s been ignoring her texts, pushing Ziggy to be harsh – she’s not interested. Jarrod apologises for his behaviour, and admits that he’s been the problem, not Ziggy. Ziggy softens, and with Justin still out, Jarrod can see a window opening. Justin arrives back, unimpressed. There’s no problem with Jarrod’s motorbike, and he suspects that Jarrod knew it all along. Jarrod apologises to Ziggy for this too, and she opens up to him a little, revealing she’s got a complicated thing happening with Brody at the moment. Jarrod rides off, and Justin makes sure that Ziggy knows his brother is serious about her, so hopes she won’t mess him around. Later, Brody arrives to speak to Ziggy, but she’s just about to head off with Jarrod to test drive the Triumph. When they park, Ziggy asks why it took Jarrod so long to come and see her – she loved him once, and he ripped her heart out. Jarrod kisses Ziggy, and she pushes him away, angrily. How did she let it get this far?

With the Task Force back in the Bay to investigate Novak’s murder, Robbo’s secret is under threat again. Fortunately, Kat trusts that he’s innocent. At the station, Detective Inspector Shepherd has a mountain of questions for Kat, leaving her surprised. Shepherd believes that even if there’s no actual evidence that Robbo murdered Novak, he was the last person to see him alive – all things considered, Shepherd advises Kat that she’ll take no further part in the investigation due to the potential conflict of interest. Not happy, she tells Robbo what happened, and he heads straight to the station to answer Shepherd’s questions. Shepherd wants to test the clothes Robbo was wearing on the night of the murder for gunshot residue, outmanoeuvring Robbo’s attempt to close the investigation. Robbo leaves and unleashes his rage on a punching bag. Kat finds him, and he tells her he thinks things are about to get a whole lot worse. Back at the station, Shepherd orders for all the information on Robbo to be pulled up again. He’s onto him…

At the Diner, Brody recognises Terry, a restaurant reviewer that had previously eaten at Salt. But considering that encounter went so badly, Marilyn thinks Brody should stay out of sight and concentrate on cooking. Brody’s genius kitchen skills will get them a brilliant review, and Terry will be none the wiser. But Brody does too well, and Terry wants to meet him. Despite Marilyn’s attempts to keep them apart, Terry finds Brody in the kitchen. Luckily Terry is just passing through and not there to review the Diner, but tells Brody not to let the last set back get in his way, he has real talent. This speaks to Brody’s mission to take his life back, and pushes him to see Ziggy at the garage. He tells her he’s determined to get his life sorted, only to discover that Jarrod’s there, and drives away with Ziggy in the Triumph. Brody’s left wondering if it’s all too little, too late.
