Based on what I’ve read here, sounds like Georgie was just cast for the sake of being cast. The writers had 15 + years of storyline to explore with the Roo character but it sounds like they didn’t. Such a shame and a waste.

I found this article on Ross’ partners instsgram, (click on right arrow to read the article) sounds like they are campaigning for him to get back on home and Away. It’s a shame that he had to hide that he is gay and I wonder if that had anything to him being written out of the show. I hope all this expose means there is something in the pipeline for Nicole. if Ross returns, what is he going to do? By the way, it appears though he refers to himself as Roo

Im not really sure if I can say he was being totally fatherly, more so wanting to help Ailsa who by this time, I think he still had feelings for. I never watched the storyline but how did Son and Marilyn get together? That has always been the most unlikely pairing.

Excuse me? You are allowed to state what you believe to be facts but no one else is allowed to have an opinion? Exploring ideas on why Ross had no chemistry with his costar is not being ignorant or disrespectful since the discussion is not critiquing or discussing his life choices, only his acting and what he presents on screen. I didn’t even know Ross was gay when I mentioned months ago that I didn’t think he had any chemistry with Bobby. I also specifically said I have not seen any of Ross’s other work or all his scenes with the woman he had an affair with so I’m not sure if this was an isolated situation with Bobby or something he struggles with in general but in this case, in my opinion he struggled. Not every Actor can play roles that come across well on screen and I also specifically said some gay actors play straight men very well. Nicolle in my opinion had the best on screen chemistry with Alex regardless of how the storyline played out. Maybe the aim was for Greg/Bobby not to have any chemistry since it’s obvious that she only settled.

I mentioned something similar in the other thread It would’ve been nice to know what Roo was doing in New York and whatever it was, that be a reason why she runs away back to Australia. I haven’t watched Georgie in other roles but from what I have seen, I’m not sure if she could play the bad girl role as well as Justine did.

He is, has been with his partner for over 20 years. I didn’t even know he was Gay when I mentioned months back that he had zero chemistry with Nicolle but in this instance it somewhat makes sense. Some gay actors play straight men very well and even though I haven’t seen his other work, In my opinion Ross might’ve struggled with affection scenes with women which definitely showed on camera with Nicolle. I don’t recall if this was the case with the woman he had an affair with. In my opinion Bobby never truly loved Greg, she settled for the sake of Sam. from the little I saw including their photo shoot I was under the impression the storyline was heading towards Bobby/Grant but I liked that they had a friendship like Frank/Narelle

I agree the role was written for her. DebPip was just too cold, she showed very little emotion and her body language was always off. Did VanPip confirm that she left because Roger left?. In my opinion there is a different kind of onscreen chemistry between actors who are dating secretly. I dont know if VanPip and Roger dated secretly but there was definatey a chemistry that they had, very similar to Frank/Roo Frank/Bobby. Funny enough, I never saw this with Alf/Ailsa even though they acted great together I get that the Fletcher's lived humble lives but DebPip always looked so frumpy

I wouldnt mind knowing the answer to this too. I mentioned before that I never got the impression that he truly loved Bobby, it appeared to be a convenience situation hence him taking off and leaving his son when they opportunity presented itself. I also get the impression that he struggled with being a father too. Am I the only one who found Greg and Bobby kissing really awkward?..its like he was trying to extract her back teeth and there was absolutely no chemistry between them at all

Possible however, Ive always felt that Nicolle leaving Home and Away was life imitating art and I struggle with the concept that she wasn't getting any other work. Maybe she wasn't getting what she wanted, projects that were not too taxing like other soaps that wouldn't take her away from her family for too long. Like some of the cast from the early years, she probably could've done very well on the theatre circuit but I dont get the impression that she would to go down that path even though I read that she was very good in Pantomime. Anyway, now that time has past and her children have grown up and she took a walk down memory lane, I would love for her to do a stint on a soap, introduce herself again to old fans and new then see where that takes her. I remember reading a review somewhere that someone wrote a few years back, they said that when the Home and Away producers mellowed her out, Bobby was a very one dimensional character without all the teenage angst - not sure how I feel about that. When I get some time, I will find the article I guess it depends, some dont like the long hours on a soap and their personality/characters they play may on be fitting for soaps and not movies etc .
