  1. Remember, all double entendres are entirely intentional Otherwise I'd probably never write anything... I'm glad to hear that, because otherwise I would be entirely ashamed of dragging this story into the gutter.
  2. Sorry about the gap between updates. But thank you so much for the nice comments .
  3. Wonderful as usual. My favourite was definitely this; I adore your Xavier/Romeo bromance. I hope Romeo doesn't feel all left out now that Xavier is back with April. And speaking of camping and tents, my mind immediately went to, "I watched that whole Brokeback Mountain. From what I gather, something went down in the tent." . I don't know what my mind does sometimes. And for that apologise. The plot thickens with Alf and the bait shop, and also Rabbit's purpose.
  4. Just a little one Of course not. It's too early for that. We need some more angst first . Dex says enough for more than two people. Whereas Casey says the absolute minimal amount. Did you know me at school or something? I spent all my teenage years like that. You've summarised a whole section of society I reckon: the teenagers who don't fit in and decide they don't want to. Uh, no. I don't think so. That is just what I like so much about Dex, is that he's given up on caring what other people think -- Even if his dad thinks he should be more "normal". I guess I didn't do the 'normal teenage thing' either, so I definitely relate. I think it's not that Dex thinks he's unliked exactly, but more that no one understands him. He has this superiority inside his own head, where he is almost too smart for his own good, and other teenagers don't know how to deal with that. So he's used to going it alone. His relationships are built around things he understands -- like science, and school work, but not really common interests, because no one seems to have those with Dex.
  5. Thanks for letting me join! *bounces* I won't let you down . Ahh, the "secret weapon". My mind went to a really dirty place when I read that the first time around. But I am curious. Great job on the fight scene, with each of the S Men with one of the minions. I snorted out loud at this . Way too funny. The humour is amazing. Keep the crack coming.
  6. Once again, I am amazed and astounded by your ability to keep me hooked, and also continually make me laugh with your dialogue. Oh Dex, honey. Everyone has been questioning your manily virtue for quite some time . But I still love you! Marilyn obviously has no idea what is going on. Brax probably just offered her tea and wanted a palm reading, and she thought he was a nice young man, so went along with it. *is timid* C-can I be part of your superhero team too? I don't have much to offer except being a perfectionist, and maybe having a excessive need to plan things. I work well with others and am a consciencious student .
  7. Dexter is so gay. [And I'm not using gay as a synonym for lame or stupid. I mean he is genuinely lady fabulous and dreams about making out with boys.] I refuse to accept anything else. Cases in point. Case 1: Annie. Yes, maybe they were together for a split second, and it was sweet, bit there really wasn't any genuine attraction. As far as first girlfriends go, Annie was a safe option. She wasn't going to try anything with him. Case 2: Adrian. Firstly, spelled that way I was sure she was a boy. Secondly, Dex spent more time pimping his goldfish tank than hanging out with the girl he supposedly liked. I'm not saying he didn't really like her, that's not it. I just think he was getting tired of being alone. (Even Kurt Hummel dated Brittany at one point - it's not an argument against him being gay.) Case 3: The way is dressed. Costuming says so much about what a character is like. For example, Casey is always in dark tees and jeans, because he's the 'bad boy'. Romeo is in board shorts and tank tops because he's the surfer. Dexter? He gets awesome shiny vests and purple collared shirts. (He wore a corset to second period.) Case 4: The most recent endeavour of Dex being 'normal' (which I think is stupid to begin with - because he is brilliant just the way he is). Meeting with Xavier on the beach, Xavier is oggling at Miranda in her bathers, saying how hot she is - What does Dex do? He quotes Socrates. Zero interest. Second, he turns up to this party because he thinks it'll be good for April. He also has a hot, blonde chick super drunk and puking up her guts, and it would have been an easy get. But Dex is not like that (He's also a decent person.) And she was on the verge of telling him that he wasn't that weird - and there was this split second of panic in his eyes as it looked like she was going to kiss him. Instead, she vomits down his vest. All Dex wants to do is get her in a taxi and get her home. he doesn't want to actually be with her. And he was super sad his outfit got ruined. (You're not drinking? No, designated driver. What about you? I'm still trying to impress Blaine Casey. Clearly he doesn't have the same concern.) I maintain that Dex was only at the party because of Casey. H&A is this awesome forum for current socio-political issues. Homophobia and gay youth being one of them. It would make me sad if they don't go down this route with Dex, because in my mind it would be a very powerful storyline. A young boy on mainstream tv coming to terms with and accepting who he is. Not to mention his family. Remember how Sid reacted when he found out about Dex wearing makeup when he was making his video blogs? Imagine how he would react if Dex came out. A struggle to accept his son, whi he already thinks isn't 'normal enough'. I've clearly put way too much thought into this. (Even though I have resided myself that he'll probably end up with a stereotypical girl in a heterosexual relationsup, because H&A doesn't do this sort of thing. But I will continue to think Dex is just living in Narnia the entire time.) I adore Dex so much, and this would just make it so much more interesting. Even though he's in year 12, Dex knows philosophy at a university level. Why so awesome?
  8. Red Ranger- Thank you for reading. And for finding my Dex hilarious! Miranda - *hearts* Thank you! Dex has a running monologue inside his head at all times. He assess people like they are characters, with motivations, and back stories, and Casey is one is just doesn't understand. Carina - You are so wonderful. I love Dex. A lot. Zetti - The Casey story will begin to unravel. But we've got a little way to go. alice93 - Thanks for reading! Casey's motivation is pretty much obvious to everyone here except maybe him, and Dex. JarlieFanEver - Thanks! <3
  9. I always end up reading this story with a grin on my face . It just makes me feel really good. The humour is awesome, and you manage to keep all the characters in sync with this right balance of wit and sincerity. I really adore the image of Rabbit sitting there judging and side-eyeing the romances of teenagers. She is clearly very wise beyond her years. Looking forward to more .
  10. Says the guy who isn't a comic buff but does a good impersonation of one:It seems to vary a bit from version to version but usually it's the result of him having his back broken in a battle with a supervillain some time before he formed the X-Men. As always, I am indebted to you sir (bows) Ah, thanks for the clarification both of you. I'm not really a sci-fi nerd, so those kind of references go over my head. But I'm enjoying this thoroughly, nonetheless.
  11. You win all the awards. All of them. This is too brilliant. Dex-as-Sheila in order to infiltrate the lair. Convenient sign posting. Them all still being adolescents, so more preoccupied with each other than actual plans. I can't even with this story. How do you do it? I quick clarifying question, though. Is Dex is a wheelchair? (Ala Dr Scott in Rocky Horror, or is that just where my mind went?) Keep up the awesome work!
  12. Red Ranger - Thank you! Much more Dex/Casey to come. Carina - Thanks! <3 Miranda - I really hope Dex catches on. Like, becoming a unique character on the show. Charles' Logie nomination is hopefully an indication of that. Zetti - Thank you. *hearts* alice93 - Thank you for your comment on this chapter and the pervious one. JarlieFanEver - Update coming soon .
  13. Oh man, still so awesome. Where do I begin... The way you included Mitzi and Marilyn, and Marilyn being the older ex-girlfriend of Prof. Dex. Amazing. This is flawless. I just imagine Liam Lyclops getting distracted and singing about situations rather than fighting. Like, in the middle of a battle, he's just like, "This would make an awesome song!" And then others get sick of him and try to hide/destroy his guitar. Ha! So hilarious. How is it that you can make these new awesome superhero characters, and yet stay so true to who they are on the show? I'm in awe. And also in stitches because it's that funny.
  14. You know, when I casually mentioned to you in a PM that I wanted a Superhero-AU of H&A characters, I wasn't serious. (*is obnoxiously assuming everything is about Jen*). But, how do I begin to express how much I adore this? It's so hilarious and yet so in-character, and yet so so cracky. I'm just going to roll around in this universe forever. Professor Dex is already my favourite, and the fact that Ruby kills men is just brilliant. Roverine -- I can't. It's just too amazing. I wish I could adequately express how much I liked this. And this story. And the superpowers. And just everything! I am at your beck and call. *bows down*
  15. Here you go. Thanks for the sweet comment .
  16. Thank you .
  17. Xavier/Romeo bromance of awesome. Great dialogue between the two of them. Especially; Hearts everywhere for all of this <3. The chess analogy is great. Hmm... I wonder who the King is. I don't know whether it's intentional or not, but the allusion to chess and King's made me thinks of Queens and then Alice in Wonderland . Or maybe my imagination just ran away from me... Again, I adore the Lucas/Nicole pairing.
  18. Miranda - Honestly, I probably wouldn't have posted this without you <3. Zetti - Thank you so much! I hope I don't disappoint . Red Ranger 1 - Thanks. I had way too much fun writing that blog. In the first draft it was so much longer and more ridiculous. Dex <3 <3 Carina - You always say such nice things. Thank you. I don't know about "professional characterisation" -- I just have this adoration/obsession with Dex and have no life, thus spend my time writing fanfic. Luc - Always happy to bring more slash to fandom . Thanks for reading!
  19. Mod note: Please keep the discussion in this thread related to the current status of the Charlie/Brax relationship. Alluding to spoilers is fine, but keep all spoiler discussion in the relevant spoiler threads. Please do not make singular posts in this thread with spoilers only. This thread is for discussion of the current Australian storyline, lets keep it that way .
  20. Thank you so much . Thank you, Lise. Oh, Carina, You are too sweet. <3 Thanks. I'm so glad you like them. Feel free to use, and if you want me to upload any separately, let me know. I think I made some of these for Avatar Contests, or maybe I was just feeling nostalgic. Regardless.
  21. Thank you so much, everyone! And yes, I agree -- Dex I had a request for some Romeo/Ruby icons. I don't *think* these are spoilers anymore, but if anyone from the UK wants to correct me, then please do.
  22. Okay, here we go. I kind of meant ‘potential ex-boyfriend’ of Casey. Like, maybe he fell hard and fast for someone else (I hadn’t decided whether that was someone originally from Summer Bay or not). But it was a pleasant surprise to see that one of the returnees was Aden. I almost thought it was going to be some major twist in which Aden and Casey would have some weird interaction and then run off together ... but I guess that’s a bit farfetched. But the way in which you did the big reveal was great. Letting the reader know who each of the people were, one at a time. The Aden/Nicole scene was beautiful. I would really like to think that if Aden knew that Nicole was pregnant (as is in the current canon of the show) that he would want to come back and help. He is loyal, if nothing else. I adore that Nicole wasn’t ready to forgive him easily -- like she could just flick a switch and forget that he totally up and left without any sort of warning or goodbye. But, there is something undeniable between them, that ultimately brought him back, and will *hopefully* keep them together now. The little bit of joking around between the bits of serious conversation was so well written. I almost wish we could see a whole story around them, and getting their lives sorted out, and fitting back in around each other. And I don’t know whether it was intentional or not -- I hope it was -- but the contrast with Aden/Nicole being so certain about their feelings and their future, compared with that of Casey and Romeo. I think I’ve said this to you before, that I get the impression that Casey falls hard and fast, and in the past, has probably been burned as a result of this. While I am totally for Casey/Romeo, I don’t know if it’ll last. And that is what is so great about how you’ve written this last part. Like, I’m totally rooting for them to stay together and be awesome boyfriends forever, but they are young and kind of impulsive, so they have no idea what is coming in the future. They are deciding to take it one step at a time, and just enjoy it, as opposed to going into it head first and maybe hurting each other later on, if/when it doesn’t work out. There was no big declaration of, “We will be together forever. I love you.” It was just two teenage boys with their whole lives ahead of them. I adored the ambiguous ending so much. It’s so interesting that you mention that some of your favourite parts were the Romeo/Nicole scenes, because they were some of my favourite scenes to read. Their relationship was really real and beautifully written. It’s also interesting how you introduced Mink, as sort of a red herring, and that she really didn’t have much of a purpose, except maybe to put a bit of pressure on Romeo -- deciding whether to come out with everything, or just hide. I have a tendency to overanalyse my plots and characters, and tying up all the loose ends, but what I really like about this story is that you don’t need to do that, in order for the story to feel complete. Miranda, you know I adore your writing, and I feel like I use that word too often, but it’s the truth. I can’t wait to see what your next story idea is, and you have certainly inspired me.
  23. You know I like everything about this. Dex getting invovled in a fight, Romeo snapping when the River Boy went near Nicole, the Casey/Brax talk, and Ruby going off with Heath (Why is that so attractive to me?). I can't believe it's going to be over. I wonder if Romeo and Casey will get their happy ending? Another cliffhanger. I wonder who will be coming back -- potential ex-boyfriend? *wink, wink* And will we find out why Mink is actually back? These are the questions I need answered .
  24. Nicole/Lucas. Why do I now want to ship that? This is not good. I keep imagining Lucas as this 17 year old boy, like how he was when he was with Matilda, but then it occurs to me that he'd be 22 and all grown up and it would actually be pretty hot to see him making out with Nicole. What is my brain actually doing right now? It was funny how everyone seemed to clue into Rabbit's presence that quickly. Again, I adore the Rabbit/Miles interaction .
  25. Hello new favourite thread . Hmm... I wonder what that means? *is innocent* No, but seriously. I would adore this so much. Casey with the conflicting feelings and Dex just being oblivious to everything -- because he just likes musicals, okay? That doesn't mean he's gay -- but then he kind of notices Casey staring at him, then maybe Casey kisses him once, and Dex doesn't altogether freak out ... I should take this to fanfic. Not that I haven't already. Also, can we vote that the couple name (in leiu of Geoff/Aden being Gaden) is Casex, because I feel that is completely appropriate .
