    Glee

I’m entitling this post Jen’s Disproportionate Response to Glee S2E6 “Never Been Kissed” – aka Feelings ~ I has lots of them, most of them about Darren Criss. - Finn in a bathtub. Sam taking off his shirt. Good start, Glee. - Quinn in charge and fierce. Yes, please. - Mailman is back. Props for some continuity, Glee. Now, keep it up. - Puck. Welcome back. Quinn’s deadpanned, “Wow, what a catch. Can’t believe I ever let you go.” = Win. See, writers. Quinn is awesome, when you remember that she is there. And Puck is already planning on how to take down an old lady. - Mash-up 2.0. I’ve seen things online that outline how Season 2 is following the same format as Season 1. Like, S1E1 – Mr Schue finds Finn singing in the shower. In S1E2 Finn finds Sam in the same way. In S1E2 Push It causes a riot, S2E2 Toxic doe the same thing. Very subtle in S1E3 and S2E3 there is a Singalong Sound of Music reference for Kurt. Keeping that continuity, Kurt still wants to be on the girls’ team for the mashup. I heart him a lot. - Puck using Artie as his community service. I like the Puck/Artie bonding in this episode, but I feel like the character of Puck has gone backwards. In Episode 3 he was completely insightful as to what Spirituality was, that I couldn’t imagine that same guy stealing and ATM within a week. But, oh well. - Kurt/Karofsky. I’m already nervous. And finally someone notices that Kurt is always picked on. I don’t really like Mr Schue, but at least he’s trying here. But it’s not Kurt’s fault he’s unhappy and upset, there is no excuse for what Karofsky has always done to Kurt. - And why is Finn taking a back seat in all this. Puck tells Kurt to get lost, and Finn says nothing. They had their confrontation in the basement, and then Finn stood up for Kurt, in a red shower curtain no less, and now he lets it slide. I don’t get it. - How is it that when the Glee Club performed ‘Empire State of Mind’ everyone ignored them, and now Puck and Artie can make $300 for one song. I guess when Puck goes after what he wants, he get it. Artie is adorable looking up to Puck’s badassness. I can’t believe he wants Brittany back though. - DALTON ACADEMY. Kurt failing at being incognito. DARREN CRISS. “My name is Blaine.” How is it I’m already swooning? Darren Criss has that affect on people. I adore the big spiralling staircase and the whole feeling of the building. Kurt is in awe too. *Key board smash* They are holding hands and slow-motion running down an abandoned corridor to a slow piano score. Oh, my heart just swelled three sizes with that. I can’t even handle the level of cute in that scene. “Next time don’t forget your jacket, new kid. You’ll fit right in.” And he fixes his collar. I have watched this scene so many times. “Teenage Dream” is all kinds of dreamy. Darren’s smexy voice, and smooth moves with the Warblers and Kurt SMILING. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Kurt smile like that. Not even when he could reach the High F for ‘Defying Gravity’ or kicking the winning points in the football game. But, Blaine makes him smile. Kurt is basically the definition of heart eyes throughout this performance. I adore his little reaction to “skin-tight jeans” in particular. But it’s Darren Criss. How could you not love him? I do not understand people who do not like him. Always making eyes at Kurt, even with all the other guys in the room. It’s like he’s singing directly at him, and I’m watching with this stupid grin on my face and I want Kurt to transfer immediately so they can hold hands in the hallways and be all kinds of adorable together. With Blaine taking the lead and being all mature and composed while Kurt is always blushing and unsure, but likes the way his hand feels in Blaine’s. I can’t even. - This whole Beiste thing is a little disturbing. Particularly for Tina. Jersey Shore reference. - Quinn’s little lovers quarrel in public and lashing out at the Bieste. And then Mike Chang, who, ever since he has been given lines is completely awesome. I’m so happy they are giving him more to do. - I don’t necessarily like how they are approaching this Coach Bieste scenario with the boys, but I get why they are doing it. Does that make sense? Like, as Sam said, even though they aren’t making fun of her to her face, Schue’s point is that it is still a form of bullying and I wish they had kind of hammered that a bit harder, maybe. In contrast to what is happening to Kurt, which is physical and maybe more obvious, but Sam/Mike etc. aren’t innocent. I think they should also be accountable for the fact that they are letting what is going on with Karofsky slide. Because they can’t be that ignorant to it. - Latte. Wes and David. Their little “endearing” comment and Blaine being all perceptive about Kurt’s reasons for being there. DARREN CRISS. He does this little head tilt towards Kurt, and I melt into a puddle. And Kurt is opening up, like he never has before, and I want to give him a hug. “Nobody seems to notice.” That really broke my heart. Darren you are perfect with your “It pissed me off” and “If your gay you’re life is going to be miserable. Sorry, nothing we can do about it.” Blaine, even though he isn’t saying it, totally wants you to move to Dalton, so he can hold your hand. I honestly don’t think Blaine would be giving the same advice if he actually new Karofsky. Given that he is bigger and could punch both of them in the face if he wanted to. It isn’t always wise to confront a bully head-on, because it could make thing worse. Kurt has friends in Mercedes and Tina and Finn, so he should go to them for back up. Try and outnumber him again. But I guess Kurt is sick and tired of being the victim, and wants to feel like he’s in control again. He shouldn’t take what is being dealt to him, so Blaine’s words really strike a chord. DARREN CRISS. I ship these two so hard. Kurt/Blaine is my OTP. - “Spiiies!” Rachel isn’t annoying me this episode. But watch which finger you use to point, Lea. - That conversation between Schue and Beiste is all kinds of awkward. Second hand embarrassment – I’m feeling it right now. - The double date at Breadastix. “Leggo, my eggo.” Puck, you are awesome. Brittany is squeezing Artie’s leg, oh my. I LOL’d. Artie is not a badass. He may be a bit of a jerk around girls, but he has a conscience. I also think his sweater is really cute but hilarious at the same time. - The girls were fierce in their “Start Me Up/Living’ on a Prayer” mash-up. They all look good in leather. Artie is fist pumping like a champ. - COURAGE. Text message from Blaine. Kurt’s face. Everything else is irrelevant. Even when Darren Criss isn’t in the scene, he owns my heart. - Sue and her confetti cannons. And she has an evil laugh. She is perfect. - COURAGE. Then Karofsky. And Kurt is going after him and things get scary intense. The first time I watched this unfold I had no idea this was coming. I was literally watching with wide eyes as Kurt inches closer and Karofsky is pounding his locker and threatening Kurt with his fist. I really thought he was going to hit him. I knew something big was going to happen, but did not see the kiss coming. Speechless. With my fist in my mouth to stop the noise, I couldn’t even get my brain to function. It is all kinds of terrifying and intriguing and the fact that Karofsky went back for a second and Kurt had to push him away. And just Kurt’s face with his little fist in front of his mouth, and literally a million things pass through his eyes. I can’t deal with that broken expression on Kurt’s face. Chris Colfer, he is amazing and incredibly talented on a level that I can not comprehend. How is this is first major role, and he can act like that? I don’t understand. I still watch that scene, I’ve seen it probably ten times at least, but I’m still so caught up in the emotional charge of it all. The desperation of it all, in Karofsky for fighting what he is feeling, and Kurt feeling violated and everything in between. Max Adler, hats off to you too. They both acted their asses off in that scene. And it will probably go down as one of my favourites. Kudos to everyone at Glee for keeping that under wraps. - I’ve just watched the kiss again and Karofsky actually has his thumb on Kurt’s cheek and is rather delicate about it. There is even this noise that he makes as he pulls away. This squeak that slips out, and I completely unravel. Meanwhile, Kurt is wide-eyed and in shock and I want to hug him forever. I don’t know what to do. I feel so incredibly saddened by it, because both I and Kurt wanted Blaine to be Kurt’s first boy-kiss. I need that moment to happen, regardless. I wanted it to be Blaine. - Mike dobbing in Tina. He’s great. And Quinn’s little apology. And even though Santana is a b*tch, somehow I still like her. A lot. “If everyone put out, we would have a winning football team.” - Puck has his own issues, and I hope we get to deal with some of them this season. - DARREN CRISS. Now, Dalton is in Westerly, while McKinley is in Lima. That’s like 90 miles apart, from what I’ve read on Glee forums and things, so it’s like a two-hour drive to get there. Blaine drives 2 hours to see Kurt, because he wants to help him. I can’t handle these two. Karofsky is in denial, and Blaine is just letting him know that it’s okay to be confused. When he said, “You’re not alone,” I may have squealed. Maybe. But the only person who heard it was my mum, otherwise it never happened. When it happened I just imagine Darren singing “Baby, you’re not alone. ‘Cause you’re here with me.” Blaine is being shoved into a metal fence, no big deal. He’s cool with that. But Kurt has this need to pull Karofsky off Blaine. Because he’s obviously never felt this way before. Blaine is looking out for him, and totally wants to make out with him too. “Well, he’s not coming out any time soon.” Darren Criss, that delivery was perfection. And then Kurt is still upset, because he had never been kissed, and now his first has been taken away, when he totally wanted it to be Blaine. I will never be convinced otherwise. And then he buys him lunch. That is a first date. And every time they are on screen together there is this beautiful piano score, and it’s so different to the other scores they use for when it’s the whole club, or walking down the halls of McKinley. It’s slow and kind of dreamy, and I adore it. I don’t usually pick up on that sort of thing, but I just can’t help it. I want these two to be together forever. That is all. - Then there is Schue/Bieste and I feel awkward again. Will wants to do the right thing, but realistically he is annoying and selfish and does things for his own self-indulgent purposes, so I can’t really take him seriously as a teacher. Particularly when Bieste is telling him she’s just a girl whose never been kissed, and he feels like he should do that to her. Again, I get why they did it like that. That a first kiss doesn’t have to be anything special, or even with a person you actually like. But somehow it’s construed into a big rite of passage that you need to have happen. But Schue, don’t go there. - More Puck/Artie and Puck finally confesses to lying, which I kind of suspected all along. Puck isn’t as tough as he seems, and I think he secretly wants Quinn back. He’s just a boy who wants his waffles. I like that Artie is going to help him, even though he’s a jerk around girls. - COURAGE. AND THERE IS A PICTURE OF BLAINE IN HIS LOCKER. And then Karofsky is still the same, and Kurt is crumbling on the floor, in his black tights and yellow boots that I am coveting. I need a scene with Finn. He needs to know this is going on and help Kurt out. They always talk about how the Glee Club is a family, and they should all be there for each other. Well, where are they now? - Sam’s describing Bieste as a chocolate turtle and Finn’s “You’re nougat-y” was great. The boys look very handsome in their suits. The mashup was fantastic. I like how they all had a girl to sing to. And Puck and Santana were making hand-hearts to each other, while Rachel was being adorable for Finn. Boys mashup > Girls mashup. They reminded me of Human Nature with their dancing and song choice. I really, really liked it. In conclusion, I have listened to Darren’s version of “Teenage Dream” 89 times and I can’t even listen to the original any more. It’s sound wrong and I keep thinking, why isn’t Darren Criss singing this? Everything is better with Darren Criss in it. And I’m so incredibly excited at the prospect of him already being considered as a regular cast member. He is wonderful and the world deserves to know it. I am enjoying all the Kurt/Blaine fanfic that has come out of one episode, and hope it keeps coming. Even if they only play Blaine as a friend/mentor, I really want more scenes of them together, and being best gay friends, and maybe holding hands. And if they want to make out sometimes that would be fine too.
  2. Thank you so much. I'm sad it's over too. But yes, I've definitely got some more fics coming out soon. One Geoff/Aden, the other something different. Yeah, I didn't really have anywhere else to go with the story. I didn't want the ending to be all happy and neatly concluded because Geoff made the decision to leave, and as such had to give up a few things. They have each other, but Annie and Irene aren't so forgiving. Maybe if a sequel happens, then they could reconcile. And speaking of sequels ... You never told me you listened to the song! You withheld important information. But there is nothing wrong with some hardcore fangirly. You can wear a big bright G on the front of your uniform and I'll wear the A. (It's meaning is two-fold. Aden and Anaya! ) Oh boy. I wonder if you noticed the slight re-write in this version of the epilogue. I was thinking about what you said about Nicole and her role in all of this and how I kind of just cut her off at the end. So I added a bit more, to explain what happened. The drifitng apart, because I guess I knew how I envisioned it in my head, but no one else could tell. *Jen stuffs cookies in her face* Thank YOU! Any further fics in this universe are on hiatus for the moment. I don't know, I'm up to my eyeballs in other fics I am writing/want to write, and there's that minor detail of me needing a job. So, I'm not really in a position to write another 50k giant Gaden fic - Even though I really want to. I've never been to London (that shall have to be rectified at some point) so I would have to rely on you for locations/storyline ideas. I'll cover the 'and then they kissed' side of things . Thank you so much for your always positive comments, Carina. And for putting up with my fangirling that went along with this fic.

I think listening to Teenage Dream 72 times in 24 hours is a perfectly reasonable amount. And if I didn't love Darren Criss already, this interview cemented that fact.

Seen the full performance video of Teenage Dream and I just grinned like a Cheshire Cat through the entire thing. Kurt's precious little face and Darren Criss, continue to be this awesome . Favourites forever!
  5. Thank you very much for the awesome comments Carina, Sabrina, Aden_Belle Kristen (Hey! ) and Lesley.
  6. Thank you very much Aden_Belle, Lise, Carina amd Sabrina .
  7. Everything about this one, I just can't. It's stunning. The use of greyscale with the cropping and the thin black border. It's the right amount of sharpness and just perfect all round .
  8. Thanks Lise and Carina .
  9. I totally thought about writing them getting back together, years down the track, but I don't know. It seems for final this way. As for Mattie/Ric I was kind of non-descript, purely because I don't know. I hadn't figured out whether Mattie was still with him or not. I think in the back of my mind they had broken up at some point, but never wrote it down. Mattie is Lucas' inspiration for great portion of what he writers, if only for a point of comparison. What he had vs. What he has now. (Have I thought about this too much?) I hoped that him just running into her was enough to get him thinking about that, and change, and how awesome he has it. Thank you for the review Red Ranger. I agree about the quick hook-up, but because it was a one-shot I didn't have time for long-winded development. Disney Channel isn't exactly culture. It's more me be lazy and not wanting to create a new character. Selena is therefore based on a cross between Selena Gomez and Alex Russo (the character she plays in Wizards of Waverly Place). I just think she's kind of awesome in that she's a bit of a rebel on the show, and a total sweetheart in real life. And thank you Carina for your encouraging words too.
  10. I've only just seen you last comment - the one with the link - and oh yes, I've seen it and all it's Road Dogs glory. Those boys do it on purpose. I'm sure of this.

Could not agree more. Re-watched 'Grilled Cheesus' last night. It still makes me cry. And my absolute favourite quote - “Oh, I have no problem with the guy. I’m a total Jew for Jesus. He’s my number 1 heeb. What I don’t like seeing is people using J-Money to cramp other people’s style. Because to me, true spirituality, or whatever you call it, is about enjoying the life you’ve been given.”

THIS. So much. I watched it multiple times for Kurt's adorable face. Also, can we talk about what this means? What is this 'controlling urges' they speak of? My little shippy heart is about to explode.
  15. Thank you soooooooooo much Lise, Carina, Sabrina, and Kristina . *hearts*

I'm holding out on seeing this episode until it's on tv, because I'm clearly insane. I want Brittany/Santana like crazy. Also Brittany/Artie. Oh, and Sam/Quinn, even though they look like brother and sister. Why must this episode be one big giant ship-fest, and I haven't seen it!
  18. Thankies guys .
  19. After last night I have renewed faith Dex, and the writing of Dex. I think the writer's are slowly figuring out how he fits into the 'teen' group currently on the show. Giving him that storyline with Marilyn was stupic, because while yes, he is not like other teens, he isn't an adult and giving him adult-centric storylines would not work. What makes Dex unique is in how he interacts with kids his own age, including his own sister. So I adored the Indi/Dex interaction in last night's episode. Dex/Goldfish maybe one of my new ships. He is the only teenager I know who would talk about "pimping" a fish tank. Also, I adore that he talks to it like it's a) a person, and b) will actually respond. Having said that I do like Dex and Adrian together. She seems a bit older than him (but not, like Marilyn older) but is also pretty unique and witty, which I think Dex needs to keep him entertained. I hope that this line of story continues - more interaction with Indi/Romeo, because that dynamic works. Don't screw it up, writers.

I guess I should preface this by saying, I realise this episode hasn't aired in Australia yet, so I guess all of it is a spoiler. But it's available on iTunes, so whatever. I'll put spoiler tags around the major stuff, and read with caution. I see a pattern emerging here. I watch Glee episodes four times before I comment. I guess it’s because the first time I’m thinking ‘OMG NEW GLEE GET IN MY FACE NOW’. The second time is a little calmer with ‘ooh, I didn’t see that last time.’ Then after the third I think I’m pretty much okay to make things coherent. Fourth is just for ... luck, I guess. I knew what this episode was sort of about going in, so thought I was prepared. Spoiler: I didn’t make it out unscathed. Chris Colfer can make me cry. /sniffle Grilled Cheesus. Oh, Finn. Only he could pull of that combination of naivety and optimism. It was amusing to see that ‘Grilled Cheesus’ was a trending topic on twitter and all the Glee fans were like ‘Woohoo!’ and then everyone else was like, ‘WTF is this but I’m hungry.’ Kurt/his dad always have wonderful scenes and I adore them both. Puck: He’s coming out. Rachel’s face. Puck, how are you so awesome? Here’s the thing. Puck, I feel is underused. He has a reputation as a bad boy and sleeping around and was kind of put on the backburner for the first three episodes, and then Give him more lines, RMurphy. Here’s the part where I begin to fall to pieces because It’s very hard for any show, particularly a comedy, to tread the line of storylines involving faith - who has it, what is it, and what do you do with it, that kind of thing, and I think Glee did a good job. Mercedes/Kurt have the greatest friendship. And he wears a fabulous hat. Yay for more Sue back-story. I’ve finally got myself back together again and then <333. Whaddup, Grilled Cheesus. You should give Chris Colfer an Emmy. Favourite lines: “Heart attacks are just from loving too much.” <333 “Last week we were too sexy, this week we’re too religious. We can’t win.” “Now I know what Miley feels like.” -- I need episode 6 and 7 like crazy. Spoiler:
  21. Score! Mattie icons . Your colouring is wonderful and I adore what you have done to these icons. I like the simplicity of them - no real fancy textures or text. I'm assuming you saw Indi last night on Cops LAC. I don't normally watch that show but she was great!
  22. You're so welcome for the Mattie/Cassie icons --HAA . And thank you so much for the sweet comments Carina, Sabrina, Tahlia and Lise. Sure, Zoe. If you want to PM me with the pics I can see what I can do.

Okay, so I've watched Britney/Brittany three times now and finally reckon I can string some sentences together to make coherent thoughts. Don't hold your breath though. - I have a girl crush on Heather Morris. How is she so wonderful? I was so excited and blown away by her dancing. Seriously. Slave 4 U was incredible, I was completely mesmerised. HeMo is awesome and I adore how she can just say things with such a stright face. Favourite quotes include; "I'm Brittany ... b*tch", "Are you are cat?" "I'm more talented than all of you", "Next week I'll be performing a musical number by Kesha", and something about the spaceship where she got probed. Also, that whole reveal that her full name is Brittany S. Pearce (spelling?) and that's why she hates Britney Spears. Personally, I think Ryan Murphy should have kept the running joke that Brittany doesn't have a surname, but the Brittany Spears gag is still amusing. Mostly by the way HeMo said it. All with such a straight face and sincerity. And then turning to Santana ("Leave Brittany alone") and saying "Thank you for understanding." It was awesome! - Me Against the Music was fierce too. I really liked the Britney cameo at the end. Santana cracked me up as well, and I don't normally find her character all that funny. But "Seriously, you can drill me whenever -" and "My dad's a real doctor, not a 'tooth doctor'" was great. And Naya can dance as well. - Baby, One More Time was pretty much as I expected. Lea Michele is flawless, but I feel like the writer's completely screwed with both Finn and Rachel's character's in this episode. Like Rachel went all the way from wanting Finn to feel bad so he wouldn't look at cheerleaders, to dressing up to impress him and turn the eyes of other guys, back to letting him go and do what he wanted anyway. Same with Finn, that whole conversation about "You could have defended me", "Santana has a point. Just being honest" seemed really cruel and un-Finn-like. But still, the writer's get points for continuity. Thumbs up for mentions of the sad clown hooker and Finn's fling with Brittany and Santana. I'm starting to think I liked Finn/Rachel better when Finn was with Quinn and Rachel was just pining. - The thing about this episode was it went by really fast. Or at least, it seemed to. The first half (maybe?) seemed very Brittany centred, which was amazing, and then it kind of swtiched to Will/Emma and Finn/Rachel, both of which I can't make my mind up about. It could have almost been two separate episodes played one after the other, because there seemed to be little run on, or overlying story. - Artie is awesome. He high-fived Britney Spears. He wins at life. His version of Stronger was epic and reminded me of a boyband kind of sound, which is ironic because he used to be in a boyband. - Kurt wins at life. - And was he wearing a skirt? - Toxic was brilliant, except all the points at which the camera went back to Jacob and that Team Edward girl. Jacob was funny at first when he was just running his blog and making stupid comments, but this episode he was just ... urgh. I do not want to see him naked. I especially don't want to see him ... j-jerking off during Toxic and screaming out loud. I was so happy when that guy punched him in the face, because if he hadn't, I would had tried to do it myself. Those two ruined the one awesome group number of the episode. Fail. I really hope at some point they realise the whole routine because I would really like to see it without all the interuptions. - I think that is what this episode really lacked. Group interaction. Sure, they were all sitting in the choir room together, but did Mercedes actually say anything all episode? And even Puck only got one line? What is that? Ending with another Rachel solo isn't really what was needed. - I've seen the preview for the next episode and I'm pretty sure I'm going to cry. That is all.
  24. No problems. I think I went a bit overboard though . If you want to use any you can either save the whole image and crop the icons yourself or let me know which ones you would like and I can post the individuals .
  25. Thankies Carina, Sabrina and --HAA . I'm just going to keep spamming you with icons, okay?
