  2. That would be good. A most popular guest character poll would be great. We've had many that were basically regulars, some even lasting longer than regulars. We'll also get a few unique options of characters no one has thought about for 20+ years. I wonder who would wi- who am I kidding we all know it'll be Freya Duric by a landslide though she's basically a regular so it'll be pretty much cheating
  3. I'm glad Alf and Maz made it into the top 5 (or maybe they didn't...who knows :p) Cash, Felicity and Tane are better than most of the recent cast so that's probably fair. I do really like Dana though. She feels like she does have more of a personality than a lot of the newbies. Eden doesn't deserve top ten, even with sympathy votes. She's spent most of her time on the show being a whingey sponge, refusing to work/pay rent and just complains and expects everything handed to her. The rest of the top 10 deserve it though.
  4. I do recall in his last scene or close to it he stated he know what he did and appeared to not be remorseful. It was veeery flimsy. It was a wasted opportunity of a potential storyline about consent and how views have changed. It's fine if they didn't want to do that but they why start the storyline of him seeming like he didn't think it wasn't consensual. He also seemed to genuinely want to be a part of Chloe's life and had been unaware of her existence. If they wanted to make him out to be a monster, the storyline should have just done that or if they wanted to make a point about consent and people unaware back then or views being different then it should have committed to that.
  5. Yes but it's probably because of how recent it is, similar to the 7two repeats of classic Home and Away saw a big growth of characters from that era score high. Edit: I realise I misunderstood. I thought you meant in terms of how high not how low ha. Yeah that is interesting.
  6. I liked it and was disappointed it was so short. When she returned from 6 months in Cyprus (having fled the bay from Jamie Sharpe), she met Tamara (who was staying in Leah's while she was away) and helped her. I think then Leah decided helping kids in the school would be a new direction for herself. It lasted almost two years. Due to school budget cuts, Zac (who was acting principal at the time and dating Leah) let her go. It was used as a storyline to cause drama for them especially as they took on Evie and Oscar at the time as well as Hunter burning down Leah's house. I was hoping after that storyline, Leah would get her job back but it didn't happen.
  7. I wouldn't mind. The last time I remember it going something impactful was Penn Graham's death happening in The Sands. Can't remember much more of it since. When was the last time we heard or saw it?

  11. I really like this idea and really feels like old school home and away.. embracing it's history and integrating previous characters well with the new. I think Irene's bday would be a great celebration or a wedding of someone iconic like her or Alf. They massively missed the boat big time with Alfs wedding to Martha ( though that whole thing had other issues) but anything like that would be a big celebration. Or an anniversary of some kind like that had if the Bay's 150th celebration. A celebration or revamp of the surf club or school could have been a mini one. A wedding of a previous character like Sally or Don could be a chance to reunite a lot of characters...away from the bay. Imagine many former residents and a few current ones going to the Whitsundays for Dons wedding? Although, it may feel too late now, a funeral for Morag which reunited a lot of characters I feel should have happened. She was such an iconic character and a lot of the current and former residents knew her. I know it can't be expected to acknowledge every actor that passed but for someone as iconic as Morag, I think it would have been most welcome to celebrate her and Cornelia Frances.

  13. The only example I've aware of in Home and Away is Ric referring to Duncan as a tosser. This was near the 4000th ep (or maybe that episode). Tosser was cut from the UK broadcast apparently. This is something I've seen a few times so not 100% sure if true. I'm pretty sure one of the places was on IMDb but I just had a look and can't find it. Maybe someone here can confirm if this is true.

  15. That seems really early. Has it been this early in recent years? I remember it used to go to mid/late December.
  16. Exactly. It really didn't help. VJ and Jett were meant to be the same age. Jett looked his age, Felix VJ looked a bit younger and short for his age then in 6 months he looked easily 5-10 years older and tripped in height. Does happen in real life sure but it's the same person and it looks more natural. This just felt weird. Matt Little was good but they should have given him a different role. It felt even more jarring when Jett found out from his birth cert, he was a year older than he believed, making him even older than VJ.
  17. I can't see Georgie sticking around for too if Ray leaves. She clearly enjoys H and A, the cast and the flexibility with her time off but it feels to me, she's loyal to Ray and the fans. I imagine if he leaves, she'll naturally be wanting more and more time off till she decides it's better for Roo to move on.

  22. Overall this year he seems slightly less grumpy I think. But yeah characters just act really dumb for the sake of plot at times. The Heather being Marilyn's daughter thing was a mess.
  23. This. There's a big writing issue. A lot of the newer cast aren't memorable or just interchangeable. Changing cast is good to keep it fresh but it's good to have familiar faces around too. Good writing can have characters that still feel fresh and can be explored 5+ years later. Bad writing has the burn out in a year or two and either repeat their storylines or float around aimlessly till the three year mark, only to be replaced by similar type characters. I think Leah and Justin are used quite well and John too. The rest of the older cast could definitely be utilised better. Alf is used fine considering he's reduced time but he definitely feels more grumpy the last few years.
