Colby takes the stand. Marilyn’s plan to make John jealous backfires. Can Angelo and Taylor rekindle their relationship?

Extended Summary

Jasmine meets John outside the surf club and he tells her the gym’s closed and he’s fed up of people asking him about it. Jasmine says that she gave Willow the day off but expected her to arrange cover. John complains that the board shop is already open and closed according to Dean’s whims. However, he is distracted by another alert on Silver Dreams. In court, Colby announces that everything Willow said is true: He did kill Ross. He says he dropped Dean off, found Ross, shot and buried him, then told Dean he lost him. Dean and Bella are horrified, while Colby’s lawyer looks exasperated. The judge asks Colby if he’s going to enter a new plea. After looking at Taylor, Colby pleads guilty. Taylor walks out.

Jasmine is ringing around, trying to get someone to come into work. She tells John that Willow has told everyone that Jasmine’s doing the rosters from now on. John distractedly tells her to sort it out by tomorrow, before showing Jasmine Silver Dreams: Not a retirement plan, as she initially thought, but the dating app that is now showing him how many eligible women are nearby. Jasmine wishes him luck and exits, trying to phone Willow, only to run into Taylor, who says she destroyed her marriage for Colby but he killed Ross. Jasmine is initially unbelieving but Taylor says that he confessed and Willow gave evidence against him.

Marilyn arrives back at the Diner. Irene apologises to her, saying she could have been nicer. Marilyn says Irene was right and she’s deleted the app: She has friends in the real world and is happy for John to move on. Alf and Jasmine come in, with Jasmine looking shell-shocked. In court, the judge says that Colby’s actions went against his oath as a police officer and proposes moving straight to sentencing. Colby agrees and his lawyer communicates the wish. The judge sentences him to twenty-five years in jail with non-parole of twenty. Colby is handcuffed and led out; Angelo smiles triumphantly at him. Dean comforts an upset Bella while Willow looks stony-faced.

John tells a group of customers outside the gym that it’s closed. He looks through the names on the app and is shocked to see Marilyn there. At the Diner, Jasmine has filled Alf, Marilyn and Irene in. Alf notes that not long before Colby was shaking his hand and saying he hoped he was found innocent. Irene notes none of them knew about Willow giving evidence and wonders why she did it.

Angelo pulls up outside the Diner with Willow in the car. Angelo tries to thank her but Willow is unimpressed. Dean and Bella see them and Dean pours scorn on her being friends with the police. Angelo asks if there’s a problem. Dean squares up to him and Angelo dares him to give him an excuse to put him in jail with Colby. Bella tells Dean she can’t lose him too and they walk away. Angelo tells Willow to call him if she needs everything but she angrily tells him they’re done. She goes up to the flat where neither Dean nor Bella is pleased to see her, saying she didn’t throw Colby under the bus for Dean just so he can get himself sent to jail anyway. She says she did it for both of them: Colby was out of control and was going to take them all down with him. Bella says Willow cost her her brother and she’ll never forgive her for it, storming off into her room. Willow tells Dean she wanted him to have a chance to be a father to Jai and knows what prison did to him before. Dean replies that Colby won’t be able to cope in there, especially when they find out he’s a cop.

Colby’s van arrives at the prison. He hands over his personal effects, is photographed, strips his clothes off and has his tattoos photographed, showers and changes into prison uniform. Meanwhile, Jasmine finds Willow on the beach. She says she’s been trying to call her and Willow admits she got the messages. Jasmine relays what Taylor said and wonders how long Willow knew, before accepting it doesn’t matter. She cuddles up to her and asks what she can do to help. Willow says she can help her pack.

Angelo joins Taylor at the bar in Salt. He says he knows today was hard on her. Taylor says he was right about Colby and she was wrong, thanking him for not making her testify. Angelo says he still cares about her. Taylor assumes he’s there to celebrate. Angelo says that was the plan but being right doesn’t feel as good as he thought and he’s still lost her. He asks to buy her a drink. Meanwhile, Colby is shown to his cell. He sits on his own and cries.

Bella emerges from her room and asks if Willow’s gone. Dean says she went ages ago. Bella wonders when they can find out where Colby is. She asks about an appeal but Dean says the police have got him on tape and he confessed. Dean says he won’t mind if Bella still wants to talk to Willow. Bella says she only wants to talk to people she trusts. Meanwhile, Willow has her car packed outside the surf club, with Irene and Jasmine saying goodbye to her. They try to get her to stay but Willow says she can’t after what she’s done. Irene says she did the right thing. John wanders up and Willow tells him Jasmine will need a hand with the gym. She also asks them to keep an eye on Dean and Bella. As they wave goodbye, John quietly asks if they’ll tell him what’s going on.

Back inside the surf club, John looks at the closed board shop and gym. At the caravan park house, despite her earlier claim, Marilyn is still getting alerts on the app. Alf comes through on the phone to someone, saying Ryder’s going to check in on Bella tomorrow. Marilyn quickly takes the phone outside and is shocked to find John among the options. Startled by Alf, she accidentally matches herself to him and tries desperately to undo it. John gets the alert and is somewhat bewildered.
