Extended Summary

Colby and Taylor run into each other on the beach. Colby has plans for them to go to a hotel room together that night, which are immediately halted by Taylor getting a text from Angelo saying he’s back in town. Colby suggests he might have cracked the case but Taylor thinks he’d just find something else to focus on. After she’s gone, Willow appears and tells Colby that Dean and Ziggy have split up. At the hospital, Tori rejoins Leah and Jasmine and tells them that Justin’s cavernoma was larger than expected so the operation is going to take longer.

Dean and Amber are kissing at his flat. She asks what happened to Ziggy and Dean says they broke up. When she realises it’s only just happened, Amber pulls back, saying she’s not going to be his rebound again. Colby arrives home and Amber leaves. Dean goes to his room, refusing to talk. In the Diner, Angelo is on the phone trying to justify his trip down the coast and forensics examination of the car given the lack of results. Taylor comes in and briefly chats to Irene before approaching Angelo, who says he’s being accused of wasting time and money. Taylor wonders if he’s got time for a coffee and Angelo, without looking at her, says he needs a caffeine fix after his early start. Somewhat put out, Taylor says she’ll go and get them.

Jasmine brings Leah and Tori some water at the hospital. Leah convinces Jasmine to go home and rest. Tori gets a call saying Justin’s out of surgery. Meanwhile, Willow hammers on Dean’s door until he emerges. She asks him if he just made a big mistake with Amber. Dean, looking at Colby, retorts that he made a big mistake before he even met Ziggy and now that she knows it’s over. Colby is furious that Dean told her. Dean tells Colby to leave him out of his next murder and, when Colby gets angry, asks if he’s going to put him in the ground too. Colby hits him and Willow drags them apart.

Colby and Willow follow Dean down from the flat, with Colby arguing that it was Dean’s choice to tell Ziggy. They run into Angelo and Taylor, and Colby dismisses the argument as being about a sporting bet. Angelo and Taylor arrange to spend the evening together. Dean finds Amber outside the surf club and apologises for earlier. Amber says once she was willing to just accept hook-ups with him but she’s not going to be the girl he goes to because he can’t have the one he really wants again. She says not to come near her unless he’s willing to offer more than one-night stands.

Justin is brought back from surgery. Leah asks Christian if he got everything and Christian says he got as much as he could. He takes Tori aside and guesses that she didn’t tell Leah the whole story. Tori says that she only told her that the tumour was bigger than expected. Later, at Salt, Willow tracks down Dean, who says his phone is switched off. She says he can’t blame Colby for everything since he was the one that told Ziggy. Dean notes Angelo and Taylor at a nearby table and wonders about Taylor’s involvement with Colby. He says he could just go over there and end it: He doesn’t think they have a chance of keeping it quiet.

Justin regains consciousness, aware of his surroundings. Christian checks the feeling in his legs and, after a bit of a pause, he is able to feel his leg being pricked. He is also, after another wait, able to move his legs and wriggles his toes. Tori and Leah are relieved. Tori follows Christian to the lift and thanks him for everything he did. Christian leans towards her and Tori kisses him. Christian awkwardly reaches past her and presses the floor button, leaving her behind in the lift as he gets off at his stop. Tori heads back to Justin and Leah; Leah is planning to stay the night but Tori has to go and collect Grace from Marilyn. Justin thanks her and Tori suggests they shouldn’t use that word. Justin is falling asleep and Leah convinces him to rest.

At the Diner, Jasmine gives Alf and Irene an update on Justin. Colby comes in for a takeaway and gets a phone call from Willow. At the surf club, Willow is trying to herd a drunk Dean, who wants to play pool. Angelo and Taylor come downstairs and Angelo offers assistance. Dean suggests he should pay more attention to Taylor in case she gets lonely. Colby arrives and he and Willow usher Dean out.

Next morning, Tori runs into Christian near the beach. Christian gets her to introduce him to Grace. Tori says the kiss was inappropriate and apologises. Christian says he didn’t think it was that bad and seems slightly disappointed she isn’t keen on a repeat. Back at the hospital, Jasmine checks in on Justin, who has Irene and Leah with him. Justin says he heard she was a good support to Leah and thanks her. Irene and Jasmine leave but Leah insists on staying until Tori gets there.

At the Diner flat, Willow is packing and tells Colby she’s taking Dean away for a few days until he stops self-destructing. She comments that Dean always seems to pay the price when Colby messes up. A hungover Dean emerges and Willow tells him she’s got everything. Colby tries to apologise for what happened with Ziggy but Dean ignores him. Willow tells Colby to sort things out with Taylor. Later, Colby meets up with Taylor near the beach. He wonders about Angelo’s trip and Taylor says it sounds like it was a dead end. She wonders what’s happening between them and where it’s going.
