Jasmine struggles with grief. Justin and Colby’s search for Leah takes a dramatic twist.

Extended Summary

Justin runs up to Colby on the beach, asking why he doesn’t answer his phone. (Colby was surfing.) He says Leah called him and she’s in trouble: He admits she actually said she was breaking up with him, but he knows she didn’t mean it from the sound of her voice. He asks Colby to trace the call. Colby says it will have to go through Missing Persons and Justin tells him they think Leah’s fine. At the gym, Jasmine brings Willow a shake. She tries to ask her if there’s a chance of her and Alex getting back together but Willow refuses to discuss it and makes an excuse to go.

Now in the Diner flat, Justin tells Colby it was like Leah was reading from a script. Colby notes Justin isn’t giving him much to go on. Willow arrives but senses it’s a bad time; she says she just wanted to hang out and Colby says he’s going in to work soon but will be free afterwards. After she’s gone, Colby agrees to call Missing Persons but doesn’t hold out much hope as he tells them he wants to discuss the Leah Patterson case. Meanwhile, Leah asks Douglas if he’s okay with her getting ready in his room and Douglas says it’ll be her room too once they’re married. He tells her to get ready; when she reaches for one of the make-up tools, he corrects her, instead showing her a photo of his first wife on their wedding day and saying he wants her to look exactly like her. Leah asks what church they’re going to and Douglas says the wedding’s gone to be there. Leah asks if a celebrant’s coming and Douglas assures her he’ll take care of everything.

At the Diner, Jasmine tells Irene about Willow and Alex’s break-up, although she is still optimistic they can work it out. Willow comes in but doesn’t want to talk about it. Tori also arrives with Grace and asks if they’ve seen Justin; Willow says he’s upstairs with Colby. Tori tells Irene about the phone call from Leah and how Missing Persons have stopped looking for her. She asks Jasmine to keep an eye on Grace while she goes to check on Justin. Up in the flat, Colby tries to convince his colleagues that Leah isn’t the sort of person to just leave her friends, business and partner but tells Justin they aren’t budging and consider the case closed. Justin points out they were in the middle of an investigation and Colby says he’ll look into it when he gets to the station. Tori arrives but quickly feels uncomfortable when she realises it’s the first time she’s been to the flat since Robbo died. She and Justin quickly leave.

Leah has done her hair and make-up to match the photo. She goes over to the dress and deliberately rips it. Douglas comes in, wondering why she isn’t ready yet, and Leah shows him the dress is damaged. Annoyed, Douglas gets a box of sewing tools from the closet and tells her to fix it. Alone again, Leah breaks down in tears. Meanwhile, Colby stops by the gym on his way to work, having sensed there was something on Willow’s mind earlier. Willow admits Alex has broken up with her but says she doesn’t want to talk about it, she just wants him to tell Dean and Bella so she doesn’t have to. Colby gives her a hug and Willow comments on them being pathetic singles together again. Colby has to get to work and Willow thanks him.

Later, Colby has called round to see Justin and Tori. He says he can’t tell them everything but Missing Persons had a person of interest in a rural town with a record of violence, but since they heard from Leah they don’t think he’s involved anymore. Justin asks for details but, pointedly tapping the file he’s brought with him, Colby says he’d get in trouble if anyone found out he’d told him. Tori goes to check on Grace and Colby gets a glass of water. Justin quickly looks in the file for the name, Douglas Maynard, and the address, Lot 133 Stamford Road, Minna Falls. He thanks Colby as he leaves with the file, then looks up the address. Meanwhile, Leah emerges from the bedroom wearing the wedding dress. Douglas is dressed like a groom and says he’s looking forward to their wedding night and it hasn’t been easy being patient. He says the celebrant will soon be here with their guests, from a group of like-minded men. Leah has taken hold of a torch and strikes him on the head with it, fleeing into the bush. She comes to a dirt track and sees a vehicle coming. She crumples to the ground but it’s Justin, who quickly ushers her into the vehicle. Douglas watches them.

Jasmine and Willow are back at the beach house. Jasmine tries to convince her to have another try with Alex, saying she and Robbo could have given up plenty of times, but Willow doesn’t want to talk about it. Despite both Willow and a newly-arrived Irene telling her to stop, Jasmine becomes more and more intense, saying Alex is still there and it would only be unfixable if she was dead. Willow says Jasmine’s just made things harder and goes to her room. Later, as Jasmine is discussing her point of view with Irene, Irene says that keeping Willow and Alex together won’t bring Robbo back. Willow emerges and says she understands Jasmine wanting someone to have a happy ending but it won’t be her: She and Alex are in different head spaces.

Soon after, Jasmine is with Tori and Grace at the Morgan house and realises she handled things wrong. Tori comments on her visit to Robbo and Jasmine’s old apartment earlier and they both note at least they have Grace as a happy reminder of Robbo. Tori says Jasmine can spend time with her whenever she wants and that she might need her help soon; she’s not sure if she can count on Justin with everything that’s going on with Leah. She then gets a call from Justin saying Leah’s in hospital and asks Jasmine to look after Grace. At the hospital, Justin is with Leah and they are joined by Irene; both tell her they were worried about her but Leah doesn’t respond to anything. Justin goes to talk to Tori, who says Leah’s physical injuries aren’t serious and the bruises are just superficial, but she’s dehydrated and shaken. A police officer is waiting to talk to her but Justin says she doesn’t want to talk to anyone. Tori thinks Leah will recover better at home.

Colby, Murray and another police officer smash their way into Douglas’ house and do a quick check of the rooms, concluding he’s fled. They hunt around for clues with Colby going into the bedroom and searching the drawers. Douglas emerges from the closet behind him and lunges at Colby with a pair of scissors, stabbing him in the leg. Murray and the other officer arrive to find Colby restraining Douglas with one arm; they quickly apprehend him and Murray calls for an ambulance. Soon after, Murray is accompanying Colby into hospital; the ambulance officer gives out details as Colby cries out that he needs pain relief. The nurse says the doctor will see him shortly.

Irene, Tori and Justin accompany Leah back to the Morgan house and settle her on the sofa; she is more responsive but still withdrawn. Jasmine emerges and tells Leah she’s glad to see her, also chatting to her about Grace, but doesn’t get much of a response and decides to leave; she has a quick quiet chat with Tori, who says Leah’s in shock. Irene offers Leah a cup of tea but Leah flinches away from her touch. Justin tells her about swapping rooms with Tori and asks what she wants. Leah asks to have a shower and go to bed; she flinches away again when Justin tries to touch her and they both apologise. Leah goes to the bathroom, but quickly starts having a panic attack, covering her mouth to hide her cries.
