Extended Summary

Justin and Willow are walking along the beach; they have just got back from their time away and are saying it worked. They see Dean working at the board shop; although things are awkward, they’re both happy he’s got a job and Justin notes Ziggy probably got it for him. Ben tells Dean he’s happy with how he’s going. Meanwhile, Chelsea arrives at the Diner flat with coffee and greets Colby. She calls out to Robbo, still in his room, that she has one for him too; he emerges long enough to take it and tell them to keep it down. Chelsea tells Colby that she left a voicemail for her sister and hopes she can be bridesmaid if things settle down. In his room, Robbo looks at his text conversation with Jasmine.

Down in the Diner, Willow chats to Jasmine about the holiday and how things are going with Robbo. She asks about Dean and his job with them speculating it could lead to him turning his life around for good. Justin comes back in from a phone call with Ziggy and Willow quickly changes the subject before leaving with him. Irene ponders if Willow is all right before telling Jasmine she did the right thing with Robbo. At that moment, Jasmine gets a text from him and heads upstairs. Robbo apologises for leaving her hanging and says he made a mistake not telling her about being in the room with Tori. He rejects a call; Jasmine assumes he was hiding a call from Tori again but Robbo says it was Mason. Jasmine awkwardly says he should get back to him and leaves.

Justin and Willow are back at the Morgan house. Justin says he’s going to go and see Raffy at John and Marilyn’s before heading into work. He suggests Willow comes with him or goes to see her dad, before saying they’re bound to run into Dean sometimes. Willow says she’ll just enjoy her day off and maybe take Buddy for a walk. They arrange to meet for lunch. At the Diner, Alf is giving Ben advice on the fundraiser. John cuts in with advice on tables and signage which Alf says they’ve already covered. When Ben wonders about insurance, John says the surf club will cover that and Alf grudgingly confirms he’s right. John offers to run the sausage sizzle, thinking Alf will be too busy with the raffle, and Alf recalls the mess he made of the last one. Dean stops by and asks Ben if he can take his break now.

Dean meets Colby on the beach and tells him his idea to hire a PI. Colby doesn’t think a PI could do anything he hasn’t and says he’s already got Chelsea as a fresh pair of eyes. Dean suggests people in Mangrove River might talk to someone like that when they wouldn’t talk to a police officer. He also says he can pay for it. Colby says thanks but no thanks. He meets Chelsea at Salt and finds her open to the idea, saying it’s not illegal. Colby says the person Dean suggested was Ray Holston; Chelsea looks him up on her phone and finds he’s fully licensed but expensive. Colby explains about Dean offering to pay and says they might not want to know where he’s got the money from. Chelsea gets a text from her sister Alison: Neil’s put his foot down and she can’t be bridesmaid.

Outside, Justin and Willow are having lunch. Willow recalls how great things were a day ago and suggests they set a date for more time away so they’ve got something to look forward to. Chelsea comes over as Justin leaves and, after a brief catch-up with Willow in which she explains about her family difficulties, suggests they go for a coffee. At the Diner flat, Colby gives Robbo his mail but Robbo just throws it aside. He is confused about things between him and Jasmine, saying he’s being pulled in different directions. Colby encourages him to sort it out.

Chelsea and Willow walk along the beach. Chelsea explains about Neil not letting her sister be bridesmaid and how she has to live with him, before reflecting on how her mother does everyting he says. She leaves Willow to talk to Dean, saying they need to know where the money’s come from before agreeing. They arrange to meet later and Chelsea tells Willow she’ll have to take a rain check. Willow briefly congratulates Dean on the job, then literally bumps into Robbo who asks Dean if he’s seen Jasmine. In the Diner, Jasmine is telling Irene about her paranoia. She says Robbo’s saying the right things and she knows he means them. Robbo comes in and tells her he loves her. Jasmine says she loves him too and they kiss.

In the Diner flat, Chelsea convinces Colby to come and talk to Dean. Robbo and Jasmine enter in an embrace; Robbo tells the others to go out before they head into his room, kissing on the bed. At Salt, Dean fills Colby and Chelsea in on the pay-off he got from Rick. He says he can use the money to pay for Halston. Colby thinks Dean should use the money to set himself up. As they bicker about it, Chelsea cuts in, suggesting Dean loans Colby the money. Colby agrees but says Dean has to be his best man. Chelsea adds that he needs to shower and wear a clean shirt. Dean insists he’s not wearing a tie. Colby tells Chelsea he’s joking…probably. Dean says he’ll call Ray.

Willow is boxing in the gym. Justin comes in to check she’s okay and she offers to grab a takeaway and meet him later. Chelsea again comes in as Justin leaves and asks Willow to be her maid of honour. Willow looks delighted until Chelsea reminds her Dean will be there, at which point she says she can’t. At Salt, Ben congratulates Dean on his first sale. Dean also offers to help with the fundraiser. Ben leaves to pick up Maggie. Colby and Chelsea come in talking about Willow. When Dean comes in, they quickly change the subject to Ray; Dean says Ray’s going to call Colby for info. Willow comes in for the takeaway and Colby offers to buy her a drink or for her to sit with them but she declines.

Willow arrives back at the house with the takeaways, seeming rather jittery. She tells Justin about turning down Chelsea so as not to see Dean. Justin says a friend’s wedding is different and Willow, annoyed and confused, says she let Colby and Chelsea down to please him. She adds that Dean’s happy without her while she’s just a mess. Justin hugs her.
