Extended Summary

Justin and Willow are in bed: Both agree that they’ve missed “this”. Willow wonders how the relationship is going to work but Justin puts her off her train of thought by passionately kissing her. Meanwhile, Mason finds Hunter sitting by a tree. Hunter ignores a call from Leah, saying he’s not in the mood, and tells Mason not to ask about Christina. Mason says Dempsey still hasn’t made a decision about the pregnancy and tells him about offering her support. He invites Hunter to the gym but Hunter says not today.

At the caravan park house, Leah frets to Alf that the plan might have gone wrong or Hunter and Christina might have ended up back in a motel room. Hunter comes home and tells them it all went to plan and he left Christina with Student Affairs. Alf and Leah are pleased but Hunter doesn’t seem keen to celebrate. At the gym, Dempsey turns up as Mason is closing up. He is surprised to see her since they were meeting in the morning but accepts her suggestion to have dinner together.

Mason and Dempsey awkwardly peruse the menus and Mason comments on having too much on their minds to decide. He mentions that he’s been talking to Tori and his brothers. Dempsey says she doesn’t have any siblings and Mason realises no-one knows about the pregnancy. She says she doesn’t want to tell her parents and her friends will either judge or pity her. Mason suggests a counsellor but Dempsey says she just wants a nice relaxing dinner. Back at the house, Justin and Willow are raiding the fridge for strawberrys and cream. Mason comes home, commenting on his weird day, and quickly realises stuff has happened. Justin tries to lead Willow off to the bedroom. Willow suggests Mason might want to talk to him but Mason tells them to go.

Next morning, Hunter tells Leah he’s got a call from uni: Christina has been fired for making a false accusation. Leah is pleased, saying Christina broke university policy, but Hunter says she’s lost everything even though he was just as much to blame. Back at the Morgan house, Justin and Mason chat about his renewed relationship with Willow and the fact Mason could hear everything during the night. Willow emerges and Mason makes himself scarce. Justin checks they’re back together and Willow confirms it. Willow wants to talk after taking a shower, thinking it’s unfair for them to live with his family as a couple, but Justin wants to skip the talk and have a shower together, then invites her for a swim.

A short time later, Justin and Willow come back from the swim on the beach. Willow says they can’t exist in a love bubble forever and need to sort things out. Justin still doesn’t want to talk. Willow sees Mason finishing up a gym class nearby and suggests Justin talk to him. Justin goes over and apologises to Mason for not listening earlier. They arrange to meet for lunch in a bit. Mason goes back to the gym where Hunter has just finished a workout. After a brief chat about Hunter’s troubles, Mason says he’s always wanted to be a father and thinks the co-parenting could work but it’s all in Dempsey’s hands.

Hunter arrives at the Diner, finishing a phone call. He tells Alf and Leah that uni have cleared him but he’ll have to wait until next year to reapply for the placement, supposedly because they haven’t got another mentor for him although he suspects they don’t want him as their poster boy. Leah says it can be a fresh start but Hunter says this was meant to be his fresh start and he’s going to drop out of uni completely. They head home with Alf and Leah both trying to dissuade Hunter. Hunter says the experience has ruined studying for him and he’s made his choice.

Justin and Mason chat at Salt with Justin recalling his experience with Nina. Mason explains he’s offered Dempsey support and doesn’t see what else he can do. Justin has a thought: Instead of simplying saying he’ll support Dempsey, maybe he should show her he’ll be there for her. Later, Justin meets Willow at the garage. After asking about Mason, she again tries to start a conversation but Justin kisses her and tells her they’ve got the place to themselves. They close the doors.

Mason invites Dempsey round and tells her he thinks they should spend time together, without everything being full-on. He gets her to put her feet up and has prepared a showing of Love Actually (which he remembers is her favourite movie) and snacks. Dempsey bursts into tears and runs to the bathroom. Meanwhile, Justin and Willow take a walk on the wharf. Justin again tries to avoid the conversation, saying he likes their love bubble, but Willow says it’s too early to be living together. She’s going to visit Russell, then stay with friends for a couple of days until she’s sorted out something permanent. She promises she’ll be back.

Dempsey emerges and Mason checks she’s okay. She says she was a bit overwhelmed but it’s convinced her she wants to go ahead with the pregnancy. Taking his hands, she says she wants both the baby and him: She wants them to raise it as a couple. Mason looks shocked.
