Summer Bay goes back in time. Alf’s left unconscious at the bottom of the sinkhole – is he alive or dead? A humiliated Hunter makes a stand. Ryder and Raffy devise a mischievous plan to cheer up Coco.

Extended Summary

The clock at the school reads 25 past 4. Alf is at the bottom of the hole, trapped under a large chunk of masonry. He sees someone else lying nearby and asks if they’re okay. 3 Hours Earlier: Irene tells Alf about the bait shop being closed. Alf goes inside and finds Hunter there. He asks why he didn’t open up, then realises Hunter slept there. Hunter says he can’t be at Irene’s with Olivia there. Alf is sympathetic but isn’t keen on the situation continuing. Hunter storms out, passing Jennifer. She asks Alf if she should go after him but Alf bluntly replies that she should be in school.

In the Diner, Roo reminds Raffy they have to get back to school. (Raffy has a folder that we have seen among the rubble at the start of the episode.) Irene asks Leah to cover for her while she takes Olivia to hospital for a counselling appointment. Alf comes in and tells them about Hunter sleeping at the bait shop. Outside, Ryder is trying to get Coco and Jennifer to skip school. Roo and Raffy join them; Roo tells Coco that Maggie’s working from home and dissuades her from calling her. After Roo has gone, Jennifer decides to ditch school and find Hunter. Coco is frustrated. Ryder tells Raffy they need to cheer her up.

At the hospital, as she signs in, Olivia complains to Irene that Hunter should have texted them to let them know he was safe. Irene suspects he didn’t think about the effect it would have on them. She says Olivia’s doing the right thing talking about it and Olivia hopes Hunter has someone. At that moment, Jennifer sits next to Hunter on the wharf and gives him a lunch from Leah. She tells him he has a lot of people looking out for him, like Alf and Leah, and it’s not because they pity him. She convinces him to come to the Diner.

It is now half past two as Ryder and Raffy make plans in the school corridor. Raffy sits down and cries out in fake pain. Roo comes running and Ryder slips past her into the office and barricades himself in. He gets out his laptop, which we also saw at the start of the episode. Coco joins Roo and Raffy as the latter complains her ankle hurts. Ryder says over the tannoy that he’s going to cheer up the most beautiful girl in the school, Coco, and plays a song. Coco notes it’s the nicest thing anyone’s ever done for her. Raffy texts Ryder to say Coco’s smiling. Ryder announces it’s over and Roo breathes a sigh of relief…but then he starts getting requests by text and starts up again.

Alf and Leah bring Hunter and Jennifer food on the house at the Diner and ask Hunter to move in with them. Jennifer encourages him to accept as they tell Hunter he’s family. Hunter agrees and Alf adds that there’s a catch: He has to share with Ryder. Jennifer shows them Ryder streaming his antics in the office. It is 10 past 3 as Alf arrives at the school and bangs on the office door. Ryder initially makes announcements about censorship but quickly backs down and emerges. Coco and Raffy appear; Coco is grateful but Roo tells Ryder he’s on detention. She adds that Raffy is too and sends them both to the science lab: It is now 25 past 3 and Ryder notes they’re there until 4.30.

At the Diner, Marilyn gets a call from Roo about Raffy and tells Leah she needs to go. Hunter and Jennifer arrange to go for a juice. Irene and Olivia come in; Jennifer says she’ll wait outside, giving Olivia the cold shoulder. Leah wants Olivia to leave so as not to upset Hunter but Irene doesn’t think she should have to. Hunter steps in, saying there’s no need for anyone to take sides. Olivia asks to talk to him. They walk on the beach with Olivia saying she made a mistake. She doesn’t want them to ignore each other, suggesting they say hello if they see each other. Hunter agrees but doesn’t sound keen.

Roo is supervising Ryder and Raffy but Ryder isn’t exactly taking it seriously. Alf brings John and Marilyn in and they step outside to chat. John thinks Ryder’s a bad influence but Roo says they were cheering up Coco so she and Maggie have agreed the detention should be the end of the punishment. Ryder suggests to Raffy that they sneak out the back way. Soon after, the adults are searching for them as Hunter and Jennifer arrive to get Jennifer’s textbooks. They decide to split up. It is now 20 past 4.

Justin and Ash’s car chase is coming close to the school; Raffy and Ryder are outside and see the crash and explosion in the distance. Things occur as before, with Alf left at the bottom of the hole. He gasps in pain and passes out. The person with him, Roo, recovers and goes over to him but is unable to get a response.
