Extended Summary

Zac is going for a run on the beach and encounters Alf, who is coming back from a fishing trip. Alf comments on seeing Zac sleeping on the couch and Zac confirms Luc was up every hour. Someone watches them from the headland. Back at the house, Leah finds Billie about to take Luc out; she offers to go with them, wanting to show Luc off to her friends, but Billie says they’re meeting VJ for lunch and Leah can do that next time. She initially refers to Leah as “Leah” while talking to Luc before correcting it to “yiayia”.

Matt, Evelyn and Ellie are eating at Salt. Ellie gets fed up of the others’ flirty banter and kissing and goes to find Raffy. Evelyn gets a text from Maddy and assures Matt she knows about them and is fine. Matt wonders if she’s plotting revenge. Evelyn says Maddy is doing a tour of the Greek islands and wants them along. Matt seems uncertain, mentioning the economic crisis and riots; Evelyn responds with talk of the food and beaches. Matt starts to ponder why Maddy would want him there and Evelyn stops him making a comment about her needing help with the sails. Matt says he’d have to take time off work and think about Ellie before admitting he can’t afford to go. Evelyn says she can pay for him but Matt doesn’t like the idea.

Alf greets VJ, Billie and Luc when they turn up at the Diner and tells them to enjoy the time together. Billie coughs and blames it on the fresh air. However, while VJ is ordering, she coughs again. Back at the house, Leah makes a big deal about Billie leaving the baby wipes behind. Zac thinks she can manage but Leah wants to drive them to her. Zac says it’s not her problem and Leah asks if that’s because she’s not the grandmother. She says they took Billie into their home and she lied to them, then realises Billie has just got home and overheard.

Leah and Zac go up to their room; Leah is mortified and says she loves Billie and Luc. Zac suggests she’s been bottling things up. Billie comes in from putting Luc down and Zac goes back to work. Leah says she’s sorry but Billie says she’s the one who should be sorry and offers to move out. Leah says she doesn’t want that and hugs her. Later, VJ comes home to find Billie outside. She explains what she overheard and thinks Leah hasn’t forgiven her. VJ thinks she will eventually like he did but Billie says VJ loves her and Leah doesn’t and thinks revealing the truth has ruined things. VJ comforts her.

Zac finds Evelyn in Salt. She asks him what he’d say if someone offered him a trip to Greece, admitting he’d be with his ex but saying he’d have Leah and his sister there too. Zac says he doesn’t have a sister so Evelyn offers Hunter, VJ, Billie, Luc and Alf as a substitute before explaining about Maddy’s offer. Zac begins to understand when she explains about offering to pay for Matt. Outside, Matt has filled in Alf who comments on male pride and says things have changed and it would make Evelyn happy. Nearby, Zac comes across Leah and asks if she’s all right. Leah accuses him of pushing her to say those things. Zac is incredulous that she’s blaming him and says she can’t keep bottling it up. The same person as before watches him: Sam.

Matt tracks Ellie down at the Diner and, asking her about school and Raffy, asks if she’d want another holiday in Greece. He explains about the offer and says she’d have to take time off school but Evelyn could help her with schoolwork. Ellie is enthusiastic. Matt finds Evelyn at Salt; she is looking up flights but accepts it’s not going to happen. Matt says Alf’s talked him into it and also reveals Ellie’s reaction. She did insist on “no more tonsil hockey”…although that only counts when she’s there.

VJ and Billie are walking with Luc near the surf club. VJ wonders if Leah’s all right, since neither of them believe her claims. Billie’s had an idea and shows VJ something on her phone: A baby blessing, a ceremony to welcome a child. She suggests asking Ash and Leah to be guideparents. VJ isn’t sure about Leah, since it might underline she’s not a grandma, although Billie thinks having an official role would help. VJ tells her to let him think about it. Billie coughs again but dismisses it as a sore throat. Back at the house, Alf finds Leah looking depressed. She says she’s pushed Zac away and hurt Billie. Alf says she’s trying to be everything to people and needs to look after herself. As they speak, Zac is drinking in Salt. Sam approaches and asks to join him. Zac looks shocked.

VJ approaches Leah and says he’s sorry, since he lied as well as Billie. Leah says she’s disappointed but will cope. VJ tells her about the baby blessing ceremony; Leah hopes they’ll have a proper christening eventually but, while taken aback, agrees they should have it tomorrow. VJ asks if Zac will help and Leah says she’ll ask him before admitting they had a fight and not just about VJ. At Salt, Zac asks Sam what she’s doing there. Sam says she’s attending a writers’ conference nearby and hoped to see Zac there. Zac says his writing days are over but Sam says a lot of writers strike out first time and he should persist. When she asks about Leah, Zac again asks why she’s there. She says she’s there for him.
