Zac and Leah clash over Hunter. Kat searches for the arsonist. Summer Bay’s fire-bug may have bitten off more than they can chew. The police are on the case.
Extended Summary
Heath follows Bianca down the beach, urging her to think, before making her decision about the baby. But Bianca’s mind is set. Heath finds her again later, he knows this all comes from fear. He tells her she’s not alone, they both have scars. He assures her that the doctors will be with her the entire way. It appears he’s gotten through to her, but it’s not long until Bianca enters the hospital alone and has a measured discussion with Tori about terminating the pregnancy.
The next day, at the Beach house Heath finds Bianca’s termination kit…
Arriving home from the hospital Leah notices Hunters, listless, almost apathetic attitude. Leah brings up her concerns to Zac, but he warns her to give Hunter a break, he’s just got out of hospital. Not everything needs to be so full on. Zac is aghast when Leah brings up education with Hunter the next day. Hunter admit he’s struggling just to get through each day at the moment. Zac eventually orders Leah to stay out of it – Hunter is his son, not hers! Leah is deeply offended and hurt. Zac attempts to mend bridges but Leah remains too livid. They’re interrupted by Bianca who comes over to meet over some school plans. But even this goes awry as Heath shows up, furious about the termination kit he discovered, rushes over to discover Bianca being comforted by Zac about the situation. He punches Zac in the face.
Kat is frustrated by the lack of progress on the arson investigation. She orders her fellow officers to head back out and search for leads. She asks Phoebe to supply a list of volunteers and contractors from the festival – working on the theory the arsonist attended it at some point. Kat bumps into Ash, who wants to know if she’s made a decision about them. She cannot deal with that right now. Ash realises she is struggling with pressure at work and is supportive.
Justin hates being stuck in bed – bored out of his mind. He complains to a long-suffering Tori, who lightly tells him to suck it up. Justin makes Matt stay for a long visit…until Phoebe arrives, ready to take on the nursemaid role. Justin cheekily encourages her to stay the night. Tori is delighted they are finally together, although warns her that Justin is the world’s most impatient patient. Justin attempts to sneak out of the hospital, caught by a furious Tori. She eventually relents and he is allowed to head home the next morning. When they arrive home, Justin immediately begins palming off basic chores on Phoebe such as grabbing the remote and feeding the dog.
