Ranae pursues the Morgans. Justin makes a risky call that could put all their lives in danger. Zac and Bianca bond… will they cross a line?
Extended Summary
The shooting has stopped. Justin and Kat hide… waiting for Ranae to come inside and finish the job. Justin notices Kat’s been shot on her arm, but Kat dismisses it – more concerned with where Ranae is. When Ranae enters they’re forced to leave without their USB. They run into the reserve, where Ranae follows – firing shots at them. Kat and Justin make it to the caravan park, where schoolies is in full swing. They hide from Ranae and manage to lose her. Justin wants to get an injured Kat to Tori. They make it to the farmhouse where Tori treats Kat’s wound. The Morgans are shocked that Ranae was so brazen as to fire on the house and chase them down. They’re also disappointed about the loss of the USB. That’s their only proof. Brody wants them to run, but Kat still thinks they should go to the commissioner. Tori just focusses on Kat’s wound. Justin tells the others he’s going to warn the cops posted outside their house about Ranae… but instead he goes back to their family home to find the USB. The Morgan’s realise what’s happened when Justin fails to return.
Justin sneaks into his house under the cover of darkness, but is found by Ranae, who has the USB in her hand. Ranae ties up Justin and questions him – wanting to know how much info Justin has on the syndicate. She reveals she knew his father and ordered the hit on him. She threatens to find his siblings. Justin, overwhelmed, loses it. She killed his mum, his dad, ruined his life. He starts to break down – she ruined his life for nothing. He yells – go ahead! Shoot me! Ranae’s taken aback, but raises her gun. Before she can kill him, Kat arrives with backup and stops her. The Morgans’ are relieved to find Justin safe and sound. McCarthy apologises to them on behalf of the police force Ranae’s been arrested, the syndicate’s done – Justin will have to testify tomorrow. All the files are with the commissioner. The family is finally free. Brody feels like it’s too good to be true. But after Justin testifies they’ll be themselves again. It starts to hit home, all the things they can finally do… Justin can see Ava. Be with Phoebe. They’re overwhelmed, thinking of their parents and Decker. Such a waste – seven years. How can it all be over now? What will freedom be like? Justin prepares to testify – and Justin promises to make sure Ranae never sees the light of day again.
Alf is not massively happy about schoolies landing at the caravan park – but Zac’s in a great mood. Leah’s back tonight and it’s their one-year anniversary. Meanwhile, Zac’s stood up at their anniversary dinner by Leah – who is with her brothers and has forgotten. Disappointed he has a drink…Zac runs into Bianca, pleased to see her. He commiserates about her situation with Heath. Bianca quickly retreats. Heath gets home that night, and Darcy’s thrilled. Still, Irene clocks Bianca’s reserved about it. Bianca admits that while she doesn’t want to lose him, but it’s not some quick fix. Things aren’t good yet. Irene thinks it’ll take time. Bianca heads out and runs into a despondent Zac. She joins him for a drink. The two lament their new roles as parents/stepparents. The pair of them connecting, and Bianca admits she and Heath were talking about divorce. Marriage is harder than the fairytales make out. Zac sympathises – Leah’s forgotten their anniversary. It’s been a tough year. Tipsy Bianca and Zac grow closer, having a great time tonight. Bianca doesn’t want to go home… there’s too much drama. What is she doing with her life? Zac tells Bianca how amazing she is – she’ll be fine. Bianca reminisces about the night she and Zac had an affair. He told her not to marry Heath then… she should have listened to him. They lean into kiss… but Zac pulls away. He can’t do that to Leah. Embarrassed, Bianca leaves.
