Heath spirals as he struggles to deal with Bianca’s wish for a divorce. Evelyn and Matt’s relationship goes to a new place it may not recover from. Marilyn and Alf are concerned John’s ignoring his health problem. Brody realises Jeannie is wrong for him.
Extended Summary
Heath struggles to accept Bianca’s announcement that she wants a divorce. Bianca’s angry and exhausted – wanting Heath to sign the papers, but Heath refuses. Irene feels for him – but when she talks with Bianca, she hits a brick wall. Bianca’s mind is made up – she’s sick of fighting and has nothing left. When Irene doesn’t hear from Heath, her concern grows. Later we see Heath – a shadow of his former self – turning to alcohol, spiraling.
Evelyn hates herself for holding a torch for Josh all this time. She re-directs her anger at Matt, lashing out at him. Roo counsels Matt be a good mate, but Evelyn drives him away. Matt broke her trust by not being honest about Josh having a girlfriend. Brody comforts her, and she admits she thought Josh was her soul mate. Brody tells her there’s another person out there for her. Evelyn realises she owes Matt an apology. They bond over coffee and a muffin, their friendship strengthened. Matt is very supportive of Evelyn and tells her she can do better than Josh. Evelyn misconstrues Matt’s kindness as something more, and kisses him. Matt is stunned by the kiss and when she sees his reaction, Evelyn is mortified.
John ignores Tori’s advice to take it easy and is determined to throw himself back into his lifestyle. Marilyn is concerned for John, and Alf steps in. Alf has a heart to heart with John, convincing him to rest for a while. John doesn’t admit exactly how concerned he is about his health, but he agrees to take it easy.
Brody apologises to Jeannie for not handling her father well. In truth, he’s still unsettled by it – but he can’t bring himself to be honest with Jeannie, and finds himself hanging out with her. However, they keep clashing about her beliefs. Brody talks to Tori, who thinks this isn’t going to work out. She thinks he’s settling for Jeannie. Brody ignores her, annoyed that she’s butting in. After talking to Evelyn, Brody realises he’s been afraid to be single again. He and Jeannie both agree they should break up. Both are sorry things didn’t work out, and Jeannie quits Salt, explaining she has a new job in Yabbie Creek. After she leaves, Tori approaches a pensive Brody – guessing they’ve ended things. Brody apologises to Tori for blowing up at her earlier. Tori reassures him he will find his perfect person.
