Extended Summary

Kat is making a statement to McCarthy at the station – she explains that she was sexually harassed, but McCarthy warns she’s not a cop anymore and can’t go around acting like one. Kat is stung. McCarthy goes off to talk to the complainant and try to convince him to drop the charges, considering Kat’s claim. Much to Kat’s relief, he does and she’s off the hook. As she emerges from the interview room, Ash is waiting for him. He’s glad McCarthy let her go and tries to convince Kat it was nothing but Kat blows up – this is the most humiliating day of her life! She has no career, no prospects, and she’s an ex-cop who just got arrested. Kat tells Ash to stay away from her, before storming off.

At the Diner, Olivia is still avoiding Tabitha’s calls. Irene reminds her that she’s going to have to face her eventually, they do go to the same school. In the kitchen, Leah, Marilyn and Roo are cleaning up, talking about Leah and Zac’s “experiment” as John listens on, thinking it’s ludicrous. The ladies discover Leah is going on another “date” with Zac tomorrow, but when they hear she was only planning on a regular lunch at Salt, Roo gets a better idea. John turns up at Zac’s motel room to tell him about the plan – a blind date. Turn up for lunch and pretend you don’t know each other. John continues to find this whole situation crazy, but Zac warms to the idea.

At school the next day, Zac tells Hunter he has to re-sit the exam his marks were changed on. Hunter refuses, thinking it’s unfair he’s being punished for someone else’s mistake. As Hunter relays the information to Olivia she pushes him to reconsider – he doesn’t want to have to repeat the year. As they talk, they see Tabitha down the corridor, in a very similar outfit to Olivia. Olivia says this has to stop – today. But later when Tabitha talks to her and starts crying about Olivia’s comments on the outfit, Olivia caves. She invites Tabitha to lunch and as they walk off, Hunter calls out – what is she doing?! How can she let Tabitha rope her back in? Olivia tells him to leave Tabitha alone and walks off, leaving Hunter shocked at Olivia’s betrayal.

Marilyn and Irene are chatting about Leah’s blind date today when Kat walks in to an applause. The ladies give her a coffee on the house and tell her how proud they are of what Kat did; they heard about the rowdy customer at Salt. Kat is still shamefaced, trying to downplay it and says she shouldn’t have reacted like that. Irene waves it away and assures Kat she reacted how she should have in dealing with blokes like that – even if it does mean getting arrested. Marilyn agrees and Kat feels a little better. Meanwhile, Leah and Zac’s blind date gets off to a great start – they share old embarrassing stories and the chemistry is clearly there, but then they default into talking about the kids. Leah pulls them up and admit it’s both their faults. They make a concerted effort to keep the focus on them and it works. Zac tells Leah about always wanting to write a novel and Leah encourages him to make it happen. In fact, they should both do more things that make them happy. Zac wholeheartedly agrees. He goes to kiss Leah but she stops him – wryly saying she never kisses on a first date. Leah leaves Zac, both very optimistic about their budding romance.

In Olivia’s bedroom, Olivia and Tabitha are chatting and eating lunch when Olivia brings up the topic of Hunter’s marks being changed. Olivia says she was shocked when she first found out Tabitha might have done it, but then when she knew Tabitha hadn’t, she thought – it would’ve been cool if she had – for me. Tabitha, desperate to please Olivia, confesses that she DID actually change Hunter’s marks. It only started because she changed Olivia’s marks since she was so worried about them, then decided to change Hunter’s to teach him a lesson. Olivia quickly tells Tabitha she’d better get back to school and when Tabitha goes, Olivia pulls out her phone from under a book – it’s been on record and has captured their whole conversation.

Back at school, Zac tells Hunter he’s been cleared of any wrongdoing – thanks to Olivia – who’s obviously shared the recorded conversation with Zac. Hunter then goes to thank Olivia, adding she was very convincing. Olivia is just glad she could help, although Hunter’s a little bemused as to why she went out of her way like that – they’re not together anymore and he’s been a bit of an idiot. Olivia just says they’re mates, but there’s a hint of something more there. They hang out into the afternoon and are getting on so well, Hunter has to tell Olivia how much he hates that he stuffed things up between them – losing her was the biggest mistake of his life and he still loves her. Olivia is moved and shares she still loves him too but as they kiss, Tabitha barges into Olivia’s room. Olivia jumps up and tells her to get out. Tabitha is livid to find Hunter there thinking he’s brainwashed Olivia. Before she leaves, Tabitha tells Olivia she’ll realise one day she’s made a mistake and come running back to her. Olivia is left shaken at her creepy tone.

On the beach, Kat is still troubled by the mess her life is at the moment when Ash approaches. He immediately tells her not to look at him, but sits behind her. He knows she feels like she’s made all these mistakes lately, but those mistakes show Ash she cares and she’s got a big heart – and that’s not a flaw. He thinks she’s one of the most beautiful people he’s ever met. As Ash leaves, a smile curls onto Kat’s face.

Late in the evening, Hunter is mostly asleep when he hears someone in his van. It looks like Olivia and he says a sleepy “hey” when she starts to kiss him and he reciprocates. Things are heating up when Hunter pulls back to see her face and… it’s Tabitha. Hunter scrambles back, shocked and switches on a light. What is she doing? Tabitha counters what is he doing with her? Olivia won’t be happy. Hunter realises he’s been trapped…
