Extended Summary

Jordan’s hanging out with Olivia, and her new friend Tabitha, as Evelyn’s school sleep out kicks off. Hunter arrives, and Olivia surreptitiously points him out to Tabith, who quickly that declares she can already tell that Hunter’s not good enough for Olivia… Olivia can already see they’re going to be great friends.

Leah arrives with VJ, ready to be chaperone for the night. Zac notes that Evelyn has done a great job and Leah recommends he hire her immediately, Zac agrees heading out, with a tap on the shoulder to Leah, completely missing her attempt at a kiss. It seems their relationship has lost some of its passion.

Billie stops by the Diner to grab some takeaway, and Irene promptly invites her to dinner, along with Marilyn, John and Chris. The last thing Billie wants to do is spend time with Irene, but she’s backed into a corner, and has no choice but to accept the invitation.

Mason, meanwhile, is feeling horribly anxious post kiss with Evelyn. He’s desperate to pretend everything’s fine – and to avoid Evelyn, all at the same time. He even attempts to boost the party atmosphere of the sleep out with music and dancing. Hunter stews as he sees Olivia, Tabitha and Jordan watching videos on a phone and giggling. VJ encourages Hunter to talk to Olivia, and to make up with her, but Hunter rudely brushes him off.

Jordan and Olivia share a deep and meaningful moment as he talks about why he’s reluctant to go back to living with his father. Hunter can’t take seeing them together, and verbally attacks Olivia, who’s furious at Hunter’s interjection. He’s got no right to tell her who she can and can’t hang out… Zac interjects and VJ drags Hunter away, trying to talk sense into him. Olivia is shocked it’s come to this so quickly. Jordan feels for her. VJ understands why Hunter’s angry with the world – but turning against the people who love him isn’t the way to handle things. Hunter’s not in the mood to listen, stalks off. Zac, however, commends VJ on his effort. Hunter again tries to talk to Olivia but she shuts him down, they’re either broken up or their not!

Billie struggles at dinner with Irene, Marilyn, and John, as the food Chris has prepared stirs up her morning sickness. She seizes on the chance to leave and make her own food at home, but Marilyn won’t hear of it – they’ll find something for her. Billie, guilt peaks as Irene tells her how lucky she is to have Leah as a mother-in-law. Billie feels even worse when Irene gives her the baby blanket she made for her son. Billie tries to resist taking the gift, but Irene insists. Little does Irene know, she’s just given Billie a gift for her own grandchild.

Leah grabs some more food for the sleepout when she encounters Roo, who’s just paid a visit to Alf. Leah admit she’s a bit worried that Zac wouldn’t kiss her at the school. Roo thinks it would’ve been weird if he had. Leah reveals that her and Zac haven’t really been connecting in the bedroom lately. Roo tells her to give Zac a break and try to initiate things between the two, rather than simply waiting for him. Leah arrives at Zac’s office, and tries to put the moves on him but he completely misunderstands, thinking she simply wants to crash and have an early night. Zac later learns that Leah went home sick.

Hunter, meanwhile, is given short shrift by Tabitha when he introduces himself. She doesn’t want him to have anything to do with Olivia.

The next day, VJ sneaks out of the sleepout early, in order to see Billie. She shows him the blanket Irene gave her, and VJ recognises it as being the one Irene made for her “crazy son”. Billie’s wracked with guilt as she admits that she didn’t want to take the blanket, but Irene was so insistent.

Zac thanks Evelyn for her amazing work putting the sleepout together. She tries to deflect some praise towards Mason, but he flees at the first chance.

Tabitha is deflated when Olivia wants to head home after the sleepout, but her spirits are buoyed when Olivia suggests that maybe they hang out together tomorrow? Hunter, meanwhile, stops Olivia on her way home, and apologises for being so aggressive with her. He makes a crack about Tabitha, however, and Olivia immediately fires up. She angrily tells Hunter that she can’t stand him at the moment and wants him to leave her alone. Taken aback by her vehemence, Hunter stalks off without a word. And Olivia’s left to wonder if she went too far…

Evelyn finally manages to pin Mason down so they can talk about their kiss. Mason’s profusely apologetic as he tells Evelyn it should never have happened. It’s nothing to do with Evelyn, it’s just that Mason’s not in any sort of a head space to be getting into anything right now. But he’s sorry he’s messed with Evelyn’s feelings like this… Evelyn smiles, relieved they’re finally talking. She assures Mason she’s not hurt in the slightest. In fact, she feels the same way he does. She’s in no place to be getting into anything right now. Friendship back on track, the two mates head off to grab a coffee together…

John, Marilyn and Jordan return home – to find their home has been ransacked… Who would do something like this, Marilyn wonders, as she phones the police? Jordan is immediately anxious…
