Extended Summary

Charlotte finds Andy at the beach after a surf; she’s been looking for him. Has he said anything to Ash about Hunter starting the fire? He hasn’t. She asks if he’s going to? He hasn’t decided yet. Charlotte tries again to plead her case, saying that Andy would do the same if it was Josh. Andy isn’t moved and heads off to visit Ash in the hospital, leaving Charlotte very worried. At the hospital, Ash is doing well and should be able to go home today. Andy asks if Ash has spoken to Billie lately. Ash says she’s doing well with the burns but is getting nervous about her impending court date. Andy is silent and Ash asks if something’s up? Andy shakes it off and decides he has to go, leaving Ash curious. Meanwhile, Hunter returns home after his run in with Zac last night but Charlotte’s not there. He goes to a box and looks at old photos of him and his grandfather, clearly feeling like he doesn’t have much of a family right now.

Chris and Hannah are playfully chatting about their new relationship. Chris tells her he’s even deleted his Smouldr account. Hannah wonders if she’s meant to be impressed? Then admits she’s deleted hers too. Chris smiles but as Marilyn and John come in, Hannah quickly says she’s just helping Chris unpack stock and goes off to talk to Marilyn. Once Chris takes a break he asks Hannah, what’s with the pretending they aren’t together? Hannah admits she’s not sure she’s ready to jump back into a full blown relationship after all the Andy drama. Chris isn’t keen on sneaking around and wants to just go for it and not care what other people think. Hannah gets uncomfortable and goes for a jog.

Andy runs into Phoebe at the beach and says she must be stoked Ash is coming out of hospital today. Phoebe rushes over to hospital and asks Ash why he didn’t tell her?! Ash is still angry over the preference of Kyle as the baby daddy and Phoebe knows it. But she’s not taking no for an answer when she insists Ash lets her take him home to her place so she can look after him. Back at home, they talk. She knows Ash doesn’t really want a baby and tells Ash to be honest. He admits he’s never even thought about being a dad. Phoebe points out this is one of the reasons she said what she said. Kyle has always wanted kids. But it doesn’t mean she loves Ash any less. The both feel better after being honest about it and agree to keep talking. Phoebe heads out to pick up some food and runs into Kyle. Phoebe tells him Ash is out of hospital and she’s taking care of him. Kyle can see they’ve made up. He asks if he can come to the next Obstetrician’s appointment but Phoebe wants to ask Ash to come to this one. Kyle gets annoyed, saying he’s being pushed out. Phoebe’s sick of having to continually keep both of the guys happy! Hannah has witnessed the exchange and heads home to check on Phoebe. As Hannah asks her what Kyle was on about, Ash overhears and arcs up. Phoebe doesn’t want another fight! She decides it’s time for the three of them to sit down together and talk it out.

Andy finds Hunter alone at the beach and mentions he heard about Hunter’s blow up yesterday. Hunter is calmer, but thinks Zac is abandoning him. Andy says it’s not like that. Andy tells Hunter that he grew up without a father as well. Made him angry for a long time; he did some stupid things. He later found out being angry is more work than it’s worth. If Hunter can get past this, it’ll save him a lot of trouble in the long run. Later, Andy calls Charlotte to meet up. He tells her he’s decided not to tell Ash or anyone about Hunter lighting the fire. Charlotte wonders about his change of heart and Andy admits he feels for Hunter. Andy did some stupid things in his past and he had people to protect him, so he’s doing the same for Hunter. But he warns Charlotte to keep an eye on him. Charlotte is relieved; she won’t forget this.

Kyle comes to the farm house on Phoebe’s invitation to talk. He sits down with her and Ash and Phoebe says that she’s sick of feeling like a rope in a tug of war between the two of them. They need to lay down some ground rules. Kyle pipes up, wanting to know if this is about him coming to appointments? Ash thinks it’s not a given he can come and this starts an argument. Kyle says if it’s his baby, he wants 50/50 shared custody and wants to talk living arrangements. Kyle and Ash continue to argue and Phoebe yells at them to stop then suddenly, gasps for breath. She grabs her stomach in pain and the boys rush to her side. Phoebe says she thinks something is wrong.

Hannah returns to the diner and apologises to Chris about this morning. Chris says it’s fine, maybe they should just call it quits anyway – Hannah’s clearly embarrassed to be with him. Hannah back pedals, saying that’s not what she wants. She really likes Chris and she just needs time to get her head around them together. Chris would rather not be someone’s embarrassing secret and walks off, leaving Hannah deflated. Marilyn has witnessed the interaction. Later, John is asking a down trodden Chris where Marilyn is. All of a sudden Marilyn appears and drags Chris out of the diner and John follows. She leads him down to the beach then tells Chris to open his eyes and there is Hannah, whos’ written in the sand “Hannah 4 Chris”. She yells to everyone on the beach that Chris is her boyfriend. Chris wanders down and having proven her point, Chris kisses Hannah. They’re official.

At the hospital, Phoebe gets checked out and thankfully her and the baby are ok. The sonographer asks her what she was doing when the cramping started and she mentions she was breaking up a fight. The sonographer warns she should try and avoid high levels of stress during pregnancy. Kyle and Ash are both sufficiently chastised. They take Phoebe home and fuss over her. As Phoebe heads to her room, Kyle apologises to Ash. They’re mates, and they need to find a way to deal with this situation they’ve been thrown in. Ash agrees. Phoebe comes out; she’s got a message from Dr Povich. He’ll have the paternity test results in early. They’ll know who the father of the baby is tomorrow.
