Episode 6248

Extended Summary

Nate and Kat run out of the water happy together after a swim. Ricky stops and talks to them as she comes down for a surf. The talk about going to Zac and Leah’s BBQ later. Nate and Kat arrive at the Farm House to find Phoebe and Denny good naturedly making fun of Hannah who’s hungover after another Smouldr date.

Hunter threatens to go and see Zac himself after Charlotte refuses to introduce them. She persuades him to hold back telling him that she doesn’t want to mess up Zac and Leah’s relationship.

Leah and Zac chat about the BBQ, Zac offers to go and get the supplies saying he needs to run some errands.

Andy catches up with Charlotte and tries to make a time to see each other but she avoids him and denies she’s doing so when he asks, saying she’s busy. Denny and a very hungover Hannah approach, Denny covering for a dumbstruck Hannah who seems unable to converse in her state.

Ash talks urgently to Kat as she sits with Nate in the diner, saying the break-in proves that Billie didn’t start the fire but Kat isn’t convinced. Nate tells Ash they’re in the middle of something and Phoebe tries to drag Ash away. Ash asks Kat to keep an open mind and she answers that she always does. Charlotte has overheard the whole conversation and back at her room confronts Hunter, asking him to tell her that he didn’t start the fire. He says he didn’t mean to burn the house down, he wanted to scare Zac for refusing to meet him. Charlotte is forced to admit that she hasn’t told Zac about Hunter, hinting at Hunter’s dangerous temper. They talk about avoiding police attention but at interrupted by Leah knocking at the door, inviting Charlotte to their BBQ. Charlotte tries to put her off but realises the easiest way to get rid of her and stop her from seeing Hunter who’s hiding out of sight, is to accept. Afterwards Charlotte tells Hunter to give her his jumper and that she’s taking him to the bus stop.

Denny asks Hannah about how awkward she was with Andy and Charlotte who attempts to blame it on the hangover. Hannah goes to lie down and Denny finds a positive pregnancy test in the bin. When Hannah returns from her nap Denny tries to subtly draw her out, thinking she may admit to the pregnancy test but she doesn’t.

Charlotte is packing a bag with some matches and lighter fuel when Andy knocks at the door. She hides the bag and answers the door to Andy who asks if she’s going to the BBQ and offers her a lift. There’s an awkward conversation as Andy suggestively says there’s time for Charlotte to make it up to him but she hustles him out saying they’ll be late.

Ash cheekily tries to get Phoebe to sunbake in the nude, then runs off after loosening her bikini top. She chases him and they frolic in the sea.

At the BBQ the atmosphere is cheerful despite Ricky calling herself a seventh wheel, until Andy asks Kat whether they’ve figured out who pushed Josh down the stairs, making Charlotte uncomfortable. She goes over and starts talking to Ricky who asks if she has kids, which leads to a huge silence. Charlotte covers by saying it’s something she’d really like, then leaves the room. Zac follows and they talk about the money that Charlotte has lent him. Andy comes in and notices their closeness. Afterwards Nate, Kat and Ricky walk and Kat goes to get them juices, leaving Nate and Ricky alone. They talk about relationships with perhaps too much familiarity then Kat comes back, and Ricky declines an invitation to go to a movie. Andy takes Charlotte home and asks whether he should be worried about her and Zac. After some edgy banter about secrets, Charlotte distracts him with a kiss and more…

Phoebe and Ash lie on the beach and take selfies, the picture of happiness. Ash has to leave to help Ricky with something, but as they joke playfully Ash tells Phoebe that he loves her. Embarrassed, he gets up to go and Phoebe calls after him, telling him she loves him too. He comes back and they kiss tenderly. As Ash leaves Phoebe looks after him, full of love but with doubt about something creeping in.

Denny confronts Hannah with the positive pregnancy test but it’s not hers. As they try to work out whose it could be, Phoebe walks in and admits it’s hers.

Ricky’s home doing chores and catches herself staring at a photo of Brax. A cheerful Ash arrives to help fix Ricky’s dryer and gets questioned. He admits that he told Phoebe that he loves her and that she said it back, saying that things are looking up. Meanwhile Phoebe admits to Denny and Hannah that she hasn’t told Ash and as they ask how he would feel she also admits that she doesn’t know whether it’s Ash’s or Kyle’s baby…
