Episode 6247

Extended Summary

VJ asks how the exams went and is dragged along for pizza by Maddy, Matt, Oscar and Evie. When Matt asks Evie about Josh she says that he’s the last person she wants to talk to, still angry with him over taking drugs to help with studying. Unbeknown to them, Josh lies unconscious at the bottom of the stairs.

Down at the diner there’s some healthy banter between Nate and Kat over the best dish competition for the beach banquet. Chris tries unsuccessfully to enlist Nate as a topless waiter. A distracted Andy is bribed with a free burger into being a topless waiter by a triumphant Chris. Alf and Leah walk along the beach and bump into Zac. Alf goes into the diner leaving Leah to tell Zac about the fundraiser, then Zac musters his courage and tells Leah that he’s not entitled to the inheritance.

Charlotte goes round to see Zac and discovers a semi-conscious Josh groaning at the bottom of the stairs. Nate tends to Josh with a concerned Andy standing by. Josh says he’s fine as soon as Nate says he needs to go to hospital. When Nate goes to find another cold pack Andy tries to persuade Josh to go to hospital forcing Josh to confess that he has drugs in his system. Kat questions Charlotte who didn’t see the intruder. Andy convinces Nate that Josh doesn’t need to go to the hospital. Josh tells Kat what happened and Leah calls VJ. As they’re talking VJ sees a suspicious figure wearing a hoodie and after checking what the intruder was wearing, VJ chases them down. He manages to grab the running figure’s backpack before they escape. Kat calls to check that Billie is still in the burns hospital and tells Leah that her theory that the house being burned down and the break in being connected are unlikely. As Oscar, Evie, Matt and Maddy arrive Leah prepares to tell them about Josh. Later Evie suggests to the other teens that Josh was probably high and hallucinating. VJ arrives back out of breath and shows the others that he looked in the backpack and found the family photo of them… Kat questions VJ about the intruder and Zac tells VJ that he shouldn’t have chased the them, he put himself in unnecessary danger.

Back home Andy has a go at Josh for taking drugs, telling him if he doesn’t stop he’ll lose everything.

Maddy tries to persuade Evie to go easy on Josh. Evie goes round to see Josh, who’s just been given the all clear by Nate. Evie tells Josh that VJ saw the intruder and apologises for not coming round to see him earlier. She also tells him that she can’t be with him if he does drugs and he swears that he will never do them again. Evie tells Josh that he doesn’t need them and that she knows he’ll do well if he just believes in himself. They kiss and make up.

Charlotte gives a cheque to Zac and he tells her he told Leah that he’s not getting the inheritance. They start to reminisce and Zac says they’re lucky to have her around. In bed that night Zac looks at the cheque for $20,000 and then hides it as Leah comes in. He suggests they throw a BBQ the following day, but while Leah agrees she’s distracted, thinking of the intruder going through their things.

Charlotte arrives home to find a menacing figure in her room, only for him to take his hood off and greet her as ‘mum’. Charlotte questions her son about where he was today and he admits to accidentally pushing Josh down the stairs. She tries to tell him to be patient but he refuses to leave until his father agrees to see him. And his father is Zac…
