Leah is found and agrees to have brain surgery. Ash backs out of helping break Brax out of prison. Leah gives Zac some very serious instructions for her operation.

Extended Summary

Brax, in the prison yard after exercise, approaches one of the guards. He asks if he would get a transfer to another facility if he gave up the person who’s dealing drugs inside the prison. The guard tells him it might work and ask who it is. Brax won’t give up a name until the transfer is solid, but the guard tells him it won’t work like that – he needs to go to his Supervisor with the intel. Brax reveals it’s Gunno.

Ash & Kyle discuss the plan that Brax has told them. Once the transfer is in motion, they pick a place to intercept the van & get the guards out. Ash warns they’ll be heavily armed but Kyle insists they need to find a way so they can get Brax out of there and to the safe house. Then Brax will head off and do whatever he needs to do to clear his name. Ash asks if Kyle’s sure he won’t return to Ricky and baby Casey until after his name is cleared – that’s what Brax said.

The search continues for Leah as Alf, Zac, Nate and Matt are around a bunch of rock platforms. Little do they know, Leah is right below them, unconscious. Zac says he doubts she would’ve walked this far but Matt insists she could be out of it and be anywhere. Alf tells them all to head on, but he drops his water bottle lid. As it rolls down the rocks, Alf sees Leah through the trees and calls out “I’ve found her!” They all rush to her side and Nate talks to her whilst checking her pulse. They rush Leah to the hospital and Nate is straight into doctor mode, ordering staff to take her for a head CT immediately. Zac, Alf & Matt look on as Nate wheels Leah away. Alf tries to reassure Zac, she came to for a bit on the way to the hospital. Zac is the picture of concern. Later that evening they’re all waiting, with VJ and Jett as well, for some news. Nate comes out to talk to them. Leah is stable and fully conscious. She’s got a mild concussion and has hurt her leg but there’s no signs of bleeding in the brain from the CT. She’s very lucky.

The next morning, Ash & Kyle meet up, both having not slept a wink. Ash can’t believe they’re going to help Brax break out of prison. Kyle asks is Ash backing out? He’s unsure and asks Kyle what he thinks. Kyle says it doesn’t matter, he’d do anything to help Brax. Ash gets a text from Denny and it prompts him to remember his promise to her – to keep out of these types of criminal activities. Ash goes to Denny and tells her he visited Brax, but not what it was about. He’s lying to her again. Later, Kyle gets a call from Brax – He’s given up all the info he has on Gunno and the transfer is confirmed. Kyle stops Ash as he’s heading to Angelo’s with Denny and loops him in. So is Ash going to help Kyle?

Back at the diner, Irene thanks Alf for finding Leah yesterday and putting all their fears to rest. Chris is hanging around like a bad smell and offers to work today. Irene asks why he isn’t just enjoying his downtime? He needs to get a hobby. Irene says Chris’s problem is he never finishes anything he starts! He’s afraid of commitment. She brings up his training for the bronze medallion – what happened to that?! Chris insists he will prove Irene wrong and commit to something. He heads straight to the surf club and tells John he wants to do his bronze medallion – for real this time. When Chris goes to get changed, John makes a bet with Jett that he won’t last a day. Chris is trying his best to last through the exercises John’s putting him through, but John’s trying to make him quit to win the bet. Jett cheers Chris on, all the while him not knowing what John & Jett are playing at. As Chris comes out over a sand dune with the lifesaving dummy, John berates him saying he’s too late, the victim’s dead. He sends Chris for some more laps just as Jett pulls him up – aren’t you being a bit too hard on him? Maybe they shouldn’t be messing with Chris if this is really his calling. Just as John thinks maybe he should lay off a bit, Chris collapses and starts screaming in agony – he’s fallen on his shoulder. They all turn up at the diner later and Chris tells Irene & Marilyn that he’s dislocated his shoulder. John, feeling guilty, tells Chris he pushed him pretty hard today. John is sure Chris will rise to the challenge of his Bronze Medallion after his shoulder heals. When Jett quietly offers John the $20 for the bet, John shouts Chris lunch with the winnings.

Meanwhile, Ash is at Angelo’s with Denny and steps off to talk to Kyle. He’s decided he can’t do it. With Denny & his sister Billie, Ash can’t risk leaving them alone. He knows he owes Brax and without the girls he’d do it in a heartbeat. Kyle understands, even reasons it’s better if one of them stays clean in case this whole thing goes south. Plus someone has to take care of Ricky and the baby.

Leah is looking better and getting her appetite back. Zac asks VJ to go grab some food, then he asks Leah what she remembers. She explains that she can’t really remember going to the diner or what happened afterwards. She remembers walking in the bush and tells Zac about the hallucination. She was following it when she fell, she couldn’t move. Leah breaks down and cries to Zac, she was so scared. She admits she can’t keep going on like this – she needs to have the operation. Leah returns home and wants to talk to Zac about it, so they are prepared. She knows this is meant to be a routine procedure but its brain surgery. They have to prepare for the worst. She insists that Zac has enduring power of guardianship, so he has final say on her medical treatment if she is unable to make decisions. Then she tells him that he must stick to her one requirement regardless of what happens – If she ends up on life support, and there’s no chance of her coming back, she wants him to switch off the machines.
