Dan is getting frustrated as Leah continues to find excuses to avoid making any final arrangements for their big move.
When Rachel reveals to Lewis that she’s pregnant, he’s far from impressed. It’s a complete shock to the system, and needing breathing space he makes a hasty retreat. Rachel is left disheartened by this, but she tries to understand, it was a huge shock to her as well. Whatever happens, however, she plans to have the baby. But when she’s hit by another attack of nausea that sends her in agony to the floor she knows there’s something wrong with the baby. When Lewis finally returns to her he explains that he’s having a great time with her, he’s looking forward to living together, but he’s just not ready for a baby. Rachel tells him he doesn’t have to worry, she’s lost the baby.
Wondering why Martha hasn’t RSVP’d for the wedding, Jack insists on speaking to her about it despite Sam’s requests to just let it rest. Martha tells him it’s best if she doesn’t go, but Jack presses the issue until she’s forced to reveal to him that Sam doesn’t want her at the wedding. Sam feels justified but Jack is angry she didn’t talk to him about it. This sends Sam to demand why Martha didn’t just give an excuse, and accuse her of trying to cause tension before the wedding. Martha explains that she wants to go to the wedding, to see Jack happy as he walks down the aisle, but Sam won’t hear any of it.
Fresh from picking up Sam’s wedding dress and on police business, Jack arrives at Michael’s property to talk about his parole, but while there asks Martha to come to the wedding. Michael suggests he just drop it, for the sake of his marriage, and Martha agrees. Then as Jack drives away he hits Scruffy the dog, and as they load the poor creature into the back of his car, Martha offers to hold onto the wedding dress until he returns, to keep it from getting dirty.
