Annie is horrified to realise that Pop has mistakenly shot Geoff. He’s rushed to hospital and treated – and to her relief, the wound isn’t serious. But the rift between Bruce and Geoff is another matter. Furious to realise that Geoff poisoned the sheep, Bruce turns his back on his grandson, coldly silent. Geoff is wretched and ashamed – especially when he begins to understand the depth of Annie’s sense of betrayal.
Tony and Lucas arrive to see Geoff – and to their shock Bruce attacks Tony for leading Geoff astray, working himself up into a rage only cut short when he suffers chest pains. Clutching his heart, struggles to breathe as Rachel attends to him, urgently asking if he’s been taking his medication. Annie and Geoff are shocked to learn the truth – that Bruce suffers a severe heart condition, which he’s kept hidden from them. There’s no time for talking as the old man collapses, leaving Geoff racked with guilt, convinced that his actions have contributed to his grandad’s condition. And any hope Geoff had of salvaging their relationship is lost when Bruce tells him he’s not welcome back on the farm. Utterly alone, Geoff has no choice but to turn up on Tony’s doorstep asking for help: “I’ve got nowhere else to go.”
Meanwhile, Sally admits to Leah that she’s having doubts about going ahead with the wedding. Leah’s sympathetic and Sally opens up for the first time, admitting that while she still loves Brad, and wants to be with him forever, something’s holding her back from taking this extra step. Taking in her confusion, Leah advises her to tell Brad. But is Sally ready to break his heart?
Brad knows that Sally is having some doubts, but he’s in denial as he keeps busy organising the wedding. Rachel’s happy to help her brother, but her smile dies when Brad announces that he’ll be asking an old friend to be his best man – Henk Van Patten. Rachel seems shaken by this, but she’s careful to hide her reaction from her brother. But later we see her pick up the phone and call Henk, urging him to stay away from the wedding. She seems upset and anxious, leaving us wondering about the history between this pair…
