Drew discovers Jules is on the run. Cassie tries to protect Lily from Jules. Hugh’s true feelings for Rachel become apparent when she invites him to move in with her.

Extended Summary

Hugh is at the Nurses’ Station searching through the newspaper for a place to rent. Rachel arrives and offers him her spare room. Hugh doesn’t want to impose, especially with Kim and the baby but Rachel insists. Hugh refuses, leaving Rachel a little bemused. Later, Hugh attempts to hire a caravan, but to no avail and he is left no other option but to accept Rachel’s offer. Rachel is pleased, but it’s clear Hugh is nervous, given his feelings for her. Nurse Julie approaches Rachel and comments on her surprise that Hugh accepted to move in. She hesitates before admitting her observations would suggest Hugh likes her more than just a friend. Rachel is left feeling a bit disconcerted and later confront Hugh. Hugh makes a joke of it, much to Rachel’s relief….but little does she know how close he is to coming clean about his true feelings for her.

Determined to makes amends with Lily, Jules arrives with a bunch of flowers. He is greeted with a frosty reception from Cassie who tells him Lily’s not home, and maybe he should just quit while he’s ahead. Jules tells her to butt out and moves off, leaving Cassie frustrated by his persistence. Lily arrives home and is secretly flattered by Jules’ gesture, but Cassie manages to convince her to stay away from him. Later, Drew, Jules and Belle organise a small beach party. Lily decides to go against Cassie’s wishes. Meanwhile, the boys are in the Surf Club gathering supplies for the party when Jules spots some whiskey bottles sitting on the bench unattended. He eyes them off – but will he give into temptation?

The party kicks off and Jules and Lily are hitting it off, as is Belle and Drew who are flirting again. Alf has discovered two bottles of whiskey are missing. Alf insists it could have been Jules and they set off down to the beach. The kids play innocent when Dan and Peter question them about the missing alcohol. Drew says he only has his backpack which he offers o open only to discover the two missing bottles, Drew is horrified as Peter and Dan see the whiskey. Cassie instantly rips into Jules, accusing him of stealing them. Jules is seriously packing it – how’s he going to talk his way out of this one? But Drew suddenly pipes up and admits to taking the grog. Everyone is shocked – but why has Drew just covered for Jules?
