Breaking the law to expose Johnny backfires for Brad. Kim and Rachel make a life changing decision. Morag is determined to prove her suspicions about Ash.

Extended Summary

A nervous and desperate Brad creeps into Johnny’s house to find the stolen goods and robbery plans. He looks around in all the obvious places – nothing. Where on earth could the evidence be? Then his mobile rings – it’s Sally. He silences the call, knowing she’d kill him if she knew what he was doing and continues to search. His eyes wander to the ceiling – bingo. He makes his way up to a manhole to the ceiling space – it’s slightly ajar. He hoists himself up and finds a bag near the ledge. He smiles as he finds jewellery inside. He grabs it and eases himself back down when he hears keys in the door – Johnny! He panics, covers the manhole and hops down and hides behind the door as Johnny strides in. He notices the small ladder that appears to have been moved – questions it, but leaves quickly as the car horn outside beckons him. Brad emerges from the hiding spot, evidence in hand and gets out of there.

Brad races to Sally’s, expecting disapproval, but not as much as he gets. Sally lets him have it – Johnny has an AVO against him – he could’ve gone to jail! Morag isn’t impressed either and lets him know that the jewellery won’t be admissible as evidence because he obtained it illegally. Then Brad gets an idea – what if he ‘found’ the bag in a park? He tells McGrath his story – and the jewellery is sent to forensics – but Sally is still angry at how Brad’s gone about all of this and he knows it. Johnny is brought in for questioning – he knows Brad has set him up. He’s charged with the robbery of Amanda’s place – but Brad’s drug charges and the AVO are still a separate issue. Sally lets Brad know that he shouldn’t lie to her – no matter what. That night the evidence goes missing – without it Johnny Cooper won’t be charged. Morag is instantly suspicious that Ash has something to do with this…

Kim finds himself thinking about Baby Joe, when Rachel lets him know she’s spoken to the family DOCS have set Joe up with. She lets Kim know that she hopes he isn’t still angry with her for pushing them to adopt Joe. The sad reality is, Kim changed his mind but left it too late – now they’ve lost Joe. He lets Rachel know that he isn’t angry with her and moves off quickly, leaving a confused Rachel to wonder what’s going on with Kim. She heads to the Diner and gets talking to Irene about how sad it is that Joe is gone now and that she feels bad for having put Kim on the spot with the adoption idea.

Irene is reluctant at first, but fills Rachel in on her chat with Kim – she thinks he might’ve had a change of heart. Rachel returns home to find Kim cooking and she broaches the topic of Joe again. Kim is not impressed that Irene told Rachel about their conversation, but Rachel reasons he could’ve told her how he felt. Rachel makes a heartfelt plea to Kim – can they give this another shot with Baby Joe? Kim’s fear is falling for Baby Joe to only have him taken away again – he’s been here twice before and can’t handle it again. He opens up to Rachel and realises that now is what’s important – they decide to call DOCS to get Baby Joe back. Rachel excitedly makes the call – DOCS have to speak to the couple, then they’ll need to formally adopt him. Rachel has a good feeling that this will all work out…

Martha tells Ash about how Jack isn’t doing so well settling in at his Dads – they should pay him a visit tonight. Ash is tentative – he has to work. Martha asks him to come home for lunch then, everyone will be there. He’s hesitant – does that include your Auntie Morag? She assures him that Morag won’t bite his head off – to which Ash responds, hopefully not twice in 24 hours. Martha looks the question as Ash explains that he and Morag had a run in last night.
